“If you allow, Mrs Gray, can I take your son?” He asked my mother.
“Sure but you two better be back by the dinner time.” She warned him.
“We will be there for dinner. I promise.” He bowed his head a little before taking my hand.
“Shall we?” He asked.
“Wait a second…” I turned to Mateo. “You have to be there for dinner. Then we’ll have our lads night after that.” I said to him.
“Yeah, I’ll be there. Don’t wor-” He was cut off in the middle.
“Matt.” It was Keith.
Mateo recognized his voice and his eyes widened. He was staring at me and was not turning around to face him. I just stood there, hand in hand with Ryan, not knowing what to do.
“Oh hey, Keith.” I awkwardly spoke, not wanting to make him feel left out. He smiled at me but looked very sad.
“Can I talk to you?” Keith asked Mateo again who kept looking at me, asking for help.
“I think you both should talk.” I said to Mateo who made a face and shook his head, still not turning around.
