Yeah! Here's the new chapter!

The Weird Sisters were still playing the waltz for the other couples to dance to, and meanwhile I was sitting drinking some juice while listening to my friends talking.

And I was also watching the couples on the dance floor, having fun with the most unusual and strange couples, and I snorted when I saw the fake Moody dancing with Professor Burbage, who taught Muggle Studies.

'The irony of fate' I thought.

"Ethan" I heard someone call me.

"Hey Fleur" I said turning to the beautiful Veela, having already felt her approach.

I then noticed that there was no sign of Roger accompanying her.

"Where's your date?" I asked.

"Oh, he knew that I only accepted his ask to the ball because of the opening dance, and now that the dance was over he went to join his friends" she replied, and I nodded.

'I feel a little sorry for him, since he was practically dumped by his date after the dance' I thought, frowning.

But then I looked around the Great Hall and found him with the other boys on the Quidditch team and some of his yearmates, and he didn't look sad or bothered at all.

And he was actually having a lot of fun talking to his friends, and that made me feel relieved.

"But well" Fleur started to say, breaking me out of my thoughts, "I hope you're not tired, because I remember you promising me a dance" she smiled slightly.

"It's going to take more than a few laps around a dance floor to tire me out," I snorted dismissively. I then looked at her and smiled, "And don't worry, I always keep my promises."

"Excellent" she said.

However, before going dancing with Fleur I turned to Luna, who had stopped talking to our friends to pay attention to us the moment Fleur called me.

"Do you mind Luna?" I asked my date, and she looked at me for a few seconds before looking back at Fleur.

'Ethan is going to dance with her...' she thought, not really liking it.

But she had overheard our conversation, and she knew that I had promised Fleur that I would dance with her.

'Well, he turned down her ask to the ball before, so a dance shouldn't be a big deal' Luna thought, 'And besides, he promised'

And with a decision made, Luna looked at me, "No problem, you can dance with her" she replied, with a slightly forced smile.

"Thank you" I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.

And I had done it without thinking, but I considered it just a friendly gesture.

I then stood up, and looking at Fleur who was staring at me with her mouth open, I extended my arm to her, "So let's go?" I said.

And that woke her up, and she blinked while shaking her head, "Huh? Oh yes, let's go" she said, holding my arm.

I could feel a slight pang of jealousy coming from Fleur, but I decided not to comment on it as it would be problematic.

Fleur and I then started heading towards the dance floor, but I hadn't noticed that the other blonde girl who stayed behind was frozen in her seat.

Luna looked at my back, completely paralyzed, still feeling the heat of my lips on her cheek.

Many thoughts were going through her mind, and her emotions were is a mess.

However, the strongest emotion was happiness, and unconsciously the dreamy girl began to smile foolishly as her cheeks flushed.

And some of my friends had seen the scene where I kissed Luna's cheek, and looking at Luna they couldn't help but smile in amusement.

"Well, I think this ball is going really well for some people, right Luna?" Sue asked mischievously to the smiling girl.

"Hehe" and the response she received from Luna was a silly, happy laugh.

-------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as Fleur and I arrived on the dance floor we immediately faced each other, and then I held her left hand and placed my other hand on her slim waist, while she placed her other hand on my shoulder.

And I found it amusing that even though she was older than me, I was still bigger than her, and she even had to look up sometimes to be able to look into my eyes.

But leaving that aside, after we got into the classic waltz position which was also known as ballroom dancing, we started dancing.

"So, are you enjoying the ball?" I asked Fleur, gliding with her to the left.

"Oui" she nodded, "The decoration is magnificent, the food is delicious, and among all the balls I have attended, including those at my school, this is definitely the most lively and fun"

"So many compliments" I said, before a playful smile appeared on my face, "If someone listens to you they might think you like Hogwarts more than Beauxbatons."

"Well, maybe that's true" she joked back, as we rose and fell in time to the music, "At first glance this place seems a little rudimentary and old, but it has a way of getting into our hearts that seems like magic"

And hearing that I snorted lightly, "Yes, you definitely like Hogwarts more."

"Well, Hogwarts has something that Beauxbatons doesn't, so it's hard not to like it here" she shrugged, as we took two steps to the right.

"Oh really? And what would that be?" I asked with interest.

However, Fleur didn't answer me, deciding to just look at me with a soft smile.

'Sigh... Even Fleur has learned the art of enigmatic answers.' I shook my head slightly exasperated.

And the girl dancing with me found my exasperated look amusing, and she then decided to change the subject, "What about you? Are you enjoying the ball?" Fleur asked.

"Well, this is the first ball I've attended, and I have to say that so far it's been really good" I replied.

"Really?" she blinked in surprise, 'I thought as the Flamels' grandson he would have gone to several balls'

"Uhum" I nodded, "And I guess I should thank the Tri-Wizard Tournament for this opportunity."

I then grabbed Fleur by the waist and spun her around, "And speaking of the Tri-Wizard Tournament, how are you preparing for the second task?" I asked.

"It's going great" she replied as soon as I set her down, "And I still haven't thanked you for helping me solve the golden egg clue"

"You told me about the dragons in the first task, so it was only fair that I help you with the second task" I shrugged.

"Maybe, but thanks anyway," she said, smiling gratefully at me.

"Okay, okay" I rolled my eyes playfully, "But let's see if you'll still be so grateful when I score more points than you in the second task" I smiled slightly.

"Oh, is that a challenge?" She looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, that's clearly not a dinner invitation," I joked, realizing that the song the Weird Sisters were playing was almost over.

"Firstly, an invitation to dinner would be very welcome" Fleur started to say, "And secondly, I hope you know that I never run away from a challenge" and there was the arrogant and determined look of the French girl.

"It won't be easy at all" I told her, not realizing that a competitive look was appearing on my face.

"Yes, but I never give up on my goals" and for some reason I felt like she wasn't just talking about the Tri-Wizard Tournament.

And I didn't notice the very meaningful look she glanced at Luna, who was sitting talking to Ginny while eating some pudding.

"Now you spoke like a true champion" I smiled, before spinning her around one last time.

And after that we continued dancing for a few more seconds before the song finally ended, and as soon as the song ended all the couples on the dance floor stopped dancing, turning around to applaud the Weird Sisters' performance.

"Well, you're an amazing dance partner Fleur" I said to the Veela, removing my hand from her waist.

"Thank you, and you're a great dance partner too" she smiled at me, and I could see that her breathing was a little labored and her cheeks were slightly flushed.

"Thank my grandmother and Professor McGonagall for that," I said.

We then noticed that the Weird Sisters were going to start playing another song again, and from the style it seemed like it was going to be a more lively and agitated song.

And not wanting to get caught in the middle of all the excited students, Fleur and I left the dance floor.

The two of us then went back to the table where my friends and Luna were, and as soon as Luna saw me she got up, and when I arrived in front of her she handed me a glass of orange juice.

"Huh?" I looked at her confused.

"In case you're thirsty after dancing," she said.

"That's very kind of you" I smiled lightly, before drinking the juice.

And I was so busy drinking my juice that I didn't notice the intense exchange of glances that was happening between Fleur and Luna, which was full of rivalry and defiance.

End.
