Yeah! Here's the new chapter!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Well, changing the subject, now that means I can tell everyone that Ethan is my grandson, right?" Penny asked, looking at me and Nick with an expectant look.
"I don't see why not" I shrugged, and she exclaimed with joy before hugging me.
"Now everyone will know that I, Perenelle Flamel, have a beautiful and wonderful grandson. And they will also know that whoever dares to mess with him will also be messing with me" she said, placing her hand on her chest while making a 'fierce' face that didn't match her face that was usually calm and happy.
"Of course" I nodded, before letting a mischievous smile appear on my face, "And being the grandson of someone so important will also help me attract more girls" I said jokingly.
And listening to me, Nick shook his head with an ironic look, getting ready to say something. But before he can open his mouth, Penny interrupts him.
"That's true" she nodded with a serious look, "We'll obviously have to filter out the girls who will come after you, but even so the chances of you getting a girlfriend and wife will increase"
...
...
...
...
"What?" I asked, completely stunned, because even though I had said it as a joke, I could tell that Penny was really taking my words seriously.
And I wasn't the only one who was confused, as even Nick looked at her blankly, with a strange expression on his face.
And seeing our looks, Penny began to explain.
"Well, if Ethan catches the attention of a lot of girls he will have a better chance of getting a girlfriend, and the faster he gets a girlfriend who will possibly become a wife, the faster they can have children" she said, and this explanation only left us even more confused, but for some reason I felt a chill.
"And why would him having kids quickly be a good thing?" Nick asked.
"Oh, that way I won't have to wait long to be able to play and spoil my cute little great-grandchildren" Penny said with an affectionate and tender smile, having a happy sparkle in her eyes as she imagined herself taking care of several little black-haired, amber-eyed children.
And listening to her reason, I could only look at her with a blank expression, wondering when I became a factory of mini Ethans.
But Penny didn't stop there, as she continued talking about great-grandchildren, to the point of citing all the reasons why I should have children while also mentioning the positives about being able to care for and spoil your great-grandchildren.
'This woman...' Nick thought, looking at his wife with an amused look.
Nick himself also wanted to see his great-grandchildren, but he wasn't as focused and passionate as Penny in this matter.
And seeing that she was still in a trance in her own little world, Nick placed his hands on her shoulders, standing up and lifting her too.
He then turned to me who was still looking strangely at the woman I considered my grandmother and raised a finger to his lips, gesturing for me to be silent.
"Escape before she decides to make you read the crib and baby toy magazine she has," he whispered to me, and I quickly nodded before turning to leave, letting Nick lead Penny to their bedroom.
As soon as I left the room I leaned against the wall, taking a deep breath for fortunately having escaped what could have been a complicated and confusing situation.
Now I knew I shouldn't talk about children or great-grandchildren around Penny, much less tell her about any romantic relationships I might have.
But after wiping the sweat from my forehead, I realized something.
'Wait... Why does she have a crib and baby toy magazine?' I asked myself, feeling a chill run down my back.
And without wanting to think about the answer to that question I shook my head before casting the Disillusionment Charm on myself, quickly walking away without looking back.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After leaving Nick and Penny's room, I didn't go straight to the dorms, but instead headed towards the Entrance Hall, which was where the Goblet of Fire was.
After walking a little, being careful not to bump into any teachers or prefects roaming the corridors, I arrived in front of the Entrance Hall, and next to the large doors of the Great Hall I saw the cup on a small table.
Taking a few steps I approached the cup, but stopped when I felt that there was a barrier in front of me.
Looking down I saw that there was a golden line drawn around the table with the cup, this being the age line that the Headmaster placed to prevent underage students from trying to enter the tournament.
'Hmm, this age line isn't as complex as I expected it to be' I thought, looking ahead with my Magic Vision.
Placing my hand on my chin I began to evaluate the barrier in front of me, noticing that it was a mixture of wards and spells.
'This age line may not be very difficult to break or bypass if you have the necessary knowledge, but for wizards and witches who are still in school it is enough' I reflected.
'But well, that's good for me, since thanks to my classes with Penny I have enough knowledge about barriers and wards to figure out a way to overcome that age line'
And nodding to myself, I crouched down, propping myself up on one knee as I took a closer look at the barrier created by the Headmaster.
"The age line only stops students under 17 from approaching the cup, and it doesn't stop them from putting their name inside it," I muttered under my breath, "So that means anyone can enter the tournament to try to be chosen as champion of your school"
'Hmm, I could easily get past him using the Elder Key, but I want to challenge myself a bit' I thought, before smiling and pulling out my wand.
Pointing at the barrier created by the age line, I began writing in the air with the tip of my wand, using ambient magic to create runes.
Finishing weaving these runes I launched them at central points of the barrier, creating an intricacy of runes that connected and began to temporarily disable some of the age line's functions.
But in addition to deactivating some functions, I also modified others, as this would create a loophole and not need to change or break the barrier completely.
'Okay, I think these changes are enough for me to get through the barrier' I thought, satisfied with my work.
Standing up I moved a little away from the age line, and putting my hand in my pocket I felt the piece of parchment with my name on it.
"Well, there's no time to waste" I said to myself, before relaxing my body, feeling a lightness wash over me.
The magic inside me began to move, and my body began to turn into mist.
Now in my mist form I looked forward, and without any sign of fear I advanced against the barrier, and just as I expected rather than being repelled or hindered by the age line I passed through it.
'I did it' I thought happily, stopping in front of the Goblet of Fire as my body returned to normal.
Looking back I saw the barrier completely intact, and none of the alarm spells the Headmaster placed on it had activated.
Nodding to myself, I turned my gaze to the cup, seeing the blue-white flames dancing within it.
'Huh?' I blinked in confusion, seeing that there were something like almost transparent blue threads coming out of the cup.
And following these threads with my eyes I saw them leaving the Great Hall.
'What is this?' I asked myself.
And without knowing the answer I looked back at the cup, and reaching into my pocket I took out the parchment with my name.
'Well, I trust that I will be selected as champion, but if that doesn't happen I think I'll have to use some powerful spells that I have in my repertoire to change that' I thought, taking the parchment to the cup.
I then let the piece of parchment fall into the cup, disappearing into its flames.
And then the flames flickered, and I saw a thread shoot out of the cup and come towards me.
'What?!' I exclaimed in surprise in my mind, seeing a thread that was thicker and bluer than the others connected to me.
And I could feel that some kind of connection had formed between me and the Goblet of Fire, and after thinking for a few seconds the realization hit me.
'Wait... Could this thread be the magic connecting me to the cup because of the magical contract?' I theorized.
However, I couldn't think much about it, because with my senses I could feel the fake Moody's magic approaching.
I knew he would come tonight to put Harry's name in the cup, and I also knew I had to leave quickly, since his magical eye could see me through the Disillusionment Charm.
Using my mist form I passed through the barrier again, and on the other side I canceled the runes and modifications I had made, making the age line return to normal, leaving it intact as if it had never been changed.
And casting the Disillusionment Charm on myself again, I quickly and silently left, heading in the opposite direction of where I felt Moody's magic.
And after getting far enough away I stopped, letting out a sigh of relief as I leaned against the wall of the corridor I was in.
'New project, create an invisibility spell that cannot be detected even with magical items' I thought, irritated by Moody's damn magical eye.
Shaking my head and letting that matter go, I looked down, seeing the thread that connected me to the Goblet of Fire.
'I guess this means I've now officially entered the tournament' I thought, feeling a kind of excitement and happiness welling up inside me.
'I don't know why, but I'm truly excited to compete in the tasks' and thinking about the dragons, the black lake, and the dozens of creatures in the maze a wild smile appeared on my face.
End.
