I was hidden in the darkness atop a tree as I watch the imperial soldiers burn the village down. Even the small hut where Guan Lai and I were staying was burnt into ashes. I did not know how I am feeling right now, but pity is not one of them.

Everything that is happening around me seems to be common in my eyes as I feel nothing like a block of cold ice. My heart did not waver while I watch the whole village being burnt.

I did not even know if Guan Lai is still alive because when I finished taking care of the rest of the ships after depleting my reserves of explosives, I just saw the kingdom's soldiers being defeated and escaping to the forest.

"That kid will not fall in this place…" I muttered to myself as I continue to watch the imperial soldiers angrily rummage through the village and destroy everything.

I suddenly noticed an old man being dragged towards the middle of the village.
