I close my eyes and thought of the things that I have done so far. I did not know why I saved those two female soldiers that I did not even have time to get to know better. However, my heart feels calm and collected as I knew that what I did was the right thing.

I could feel the warm fire crawling on my skin but the pain that I was expecting did not arrive. All I could feel is the warmness of the fire and the smell of my burning… clothes.

Wait a minute… my clothes are burning… but what about my skin.

I saw some metal debris hitting my skin and left white marks, but my skin burning is another story. However, it seems that fire could not even burn my skin.

I open my eyes and saw my body on fire. My upper clothes have already turned into dust and my pants are also on fire. However, what baffled me is that every inch of hair on my body could not be burned by fire.

Suddenly some running footsteps woke me from my stupor and shifted my gaze towards two people approaching from the side of the burning car wreckage.

My eyes landed on a piece of burning metal on the ground and grabbing it, I quickly toss it towards one of the two soldiers.

Swoosh!

The burning metal flew and directly hit the chest of that soldier and sent his figure flying to the wall. His companion pointed his gun in my direction, though his eyes showed astonishment, he quickly squeezes the trigger of his rifle.

Bratatat!

Bullets came flying towards me as I dodge to the side by rolling my body while picking small debris on the ground. Before I could stop, I flung the object in my hand and it flew towards that soldier's head.

I did not bother with what happened next as I quickly ran towards the rifle I seem to have tossed on the ground.

In the corner of my eyes, I could see another two soldiers running towards me and one which is running towards the building where I tossed those two female soldiers.

I did not have time to dodge and quickly jump up. My action seems to have caught those two by surprise as they just gawk at me. But it was already too late for them, I shot two bullets that pierced their foreheads, and as I landed two bodies fell lifeless to the ground.

In the corner of my eyes, I saw the last person staring at me with fear in his eyes.

He did not proceed to enter the house but instead escaped the area.

I smirked and calmly pointed the tip of the rifle at the escaping soldier.

Bang!

Then his burly body fell to the ground and stopped moving.

I enter the house where I tossed those two and saw them leaning on the wall. They were startled to see me but relaxed upon realizing who just entered the house.

Suddenly, I noticed the two looking away while blushing.

"We have to go… that noise could have attracted more soldiers…" I said.

"Wait… you… you have to get dressed firsts." Feng Fenda suddenly said.

I showed confusion but upon seeing my bare body and almost naked lower body, I realized why they were looking away.

I was a bit preoccupied with what is happening that I forgot, I just burned my clothes.

I scanned the dead soldiers outside and quickly remove the outer clothing of a soldier, his pants, and boots.

After changing, the three of us continue walking towards the depot and noticed a large number of soldiers running towards the direction where the patrol group was just killed.

On the rooftop, we began planning on what we should do next.

"The depot is already close by. However, it would not be that easy to infiltrate it. If the Hunter is around the area, then…" Feng Wanya said while pointing at the roughly sketched map on the ground.

She is pointing at a particular area where the one she called 'The Hunter' should be present.

"This Hunter… is an awakened being, right?" I asked while looking at the area she pointed to.

"Yes… He seems to be able to turn himself invisible. He is a special part of the mercenary group but does not belong to any squad. He works alone and likes to hunt his prey. Many of the targets that our mercenary group has taken down are due to his help." Feng Fenda explained.

"So you mean, he is not part of the army, but is just helping?"

"Yes… No one has ever talked to him… or see him for that matter. He is always wearing that cloak which covers his whole body…"

Feng Fenda began explaining things about what I need to be careful in that area. I will leave the two of them to hide for now. I would be the only one infiltrating the small supply depot. My purpose in doing this is to be able to get access to the complete information about the syndicate Hallowed Leaf.

Since the Serpent Gangs are under the organization and the mercenary group is employed by the Syndicate itself, I know that I can get something from their base. With that in mind, I am already decided to infiltrate the base even if I have to kill my way through it.

After preparing everything, I left the sisters on the rooftop and instruct them to not move around anywhere. This would prevent them from getting caught by the enemy.

Taking a duffle bag filled with some of the guns and ammo we took from the soldiers we defeated, I extended my senses and tried to smell the murky air and listen to my surroundings.

I could tell that there are some soldiers within the vicinity. They are just some regular patrolling soldiers who are coming back from inspecting the area where I caused some trouble.

As I roam my senses, I suddenly noticed some anomaly. I was a bit curious about it, so I wanted to check it out.

Leaving the two sisters on the rooftop, Xin Wei jumps from the top of the 10-story building and disappears into the shadows.

Not long later after he disappeared, a figure slowly materializes in the air. The figure seems to have come out from within the shadows of another building while it looks at the place where the two sisters are hiding. The figure seems reluctant to do anything and just heaves a deep sigh.

Then from within that thick coat, a small voice that seems to belong to a woman appears.

"Why did those two came back? They would be in trouble if they stay in this place…"

The figure is exactly the same one as described by Feng Fenda, it was the Hunter. But the fact that the hunter is a woman is something that only a few knew in the mercenary base.

Under her large coat and a large backpack, the Hunter just watches the place where Feng Fenda and Feng Wanya are hiding.

"Why don't you reveal yourself to them?" suddenly a male voice interrupted her train of thought and made her jump in shock.

Then in a blink of an eye, the Hunter suddenly disappears.

Xin Wei jumps up from below a stair and walks near to where The Hunter's figure just disappears.

"Come out now… I know you are here. Don't hide… I mean you no harm."

But no one answered, and this made Xin Wei knit his brow.

"Don't force me to make you come out…" he said in a low threatening voice.

Feeling that the man seems to be dangerous, a figure slowly appears from within the shadows, but she is holding a handgun in both hands.

"Good… Now, are you my enemy or not?" Xin Wei asked with a serious expression on his face.

"That depends… Why are you with the Feng sisters?" she asked with a firm tone.

The Hunter seems unafraid of Xin Wei as she held her pistol tightly.

"Their company attacked me, and I destroy them. Those two mean me no harm so I let them live."

Hearing his words, a slight gasp could be heard under the thick hood covering her face.

"It seems that you are not a threat, but I noticed that you've been following us for a while now… I will infiltrate the base. Will you stop me?"

"…"

It seems that she has been thinking about something as she did not reply after some time.

"Are… are you going to kill everyone in… in the base?"

"If they block my path, they will die. If not, then they will live. I only play by that rule…"

Upon hearing the reply of the young man in front of her, the Hunter lowers her gun. Though the man is scary, at least he lives by a principle. Since she is not a threat to him, she would be worried about getting him as her enemy.

"I am not a part of their mercenary group. I'm just here to protect this neighborhood. If anyone dares harm the people here, then I will dispose of them. My only connection to that group are the missions they can give me and its price." She explained.

"Good… I will leave those two in your hands then…" Xin Wei said as he stood up and walk to the edge of the tall building.

Then in front of Hunter's eyes, he jumps down.

Feeling a bit astonished, she suddenly ran to the edge and tries to see where the figure of that young man is, but to her dismay, he has already disappeared.
