Maya glanced at Lucas, and Lucas glanced at Maya.

Maya had to admit that all the games and teasing did help her warm up a little to Lucas. For a moment, it felt as though they were back in Vegas before he revealed that he knew her true identity and before they somehow got married without her knowing. But it didn't mean she was going to immediately treat this like a real marriage. At most, it was just a mutually beneficial friendship. Especially since she never got an explanation as to why the man rushed into marriage with her. What was going through his head when it happened? The message from Nova had interrupted before she got a proper explanation.

Above all, she still didn't know when he had discovered her real identity, and how long he knew she was lying to him for.

Sure, she could do with his protection, but there were still a lot of uncertainties about the man's motives. So...she had to be extra careful.
