Rui Fei couldn't figure it out nor did he have time to make sense of it because something even more bizarre occurred. Ji Wen also sprung up from nowhere and descended from the sky dangerously approaching Ji Yao as though to attack him too.

When Ji Yao told him to protect him he didn't think he meant he should protect him from his family. Something was definitely off. With a speed invisible to the human eye he knocked out Ji Wen and then proceeded to put a barrier around Ji Yao for extra security.

At this rate, he might be fighting the entire Nocru and half Nocru race in the imperial palace. His conjecture wasn't wrong. Soon after that, a wave of Nocru rushed over in their direction with listless eyes.

This fight escalated to a one vs thirty and counting. Rui Fei felt his blood chill to its freezing point as he watched them attack at the same time. He didn't know how he was supposed to defend Ji Yao from all these people.
