Chapter: Nick's Determination

It had been a total of seven days since Zane had left Nick in charge of the base. Nick was however still not convinced that he was suited for the role of leader. Not only would he be leading Zane's supporters, but he would also be helping to lead the military alongside Captain Von. 

Nick had always viewed himself as more of a supporting character than a leader. He would rather have someone else take the lead while he offered them the best support he could give. However, Zane had put his trust in him to lead in his absence. As Zane's best friend, Nick was determined to live up to his expectations.

Despite not liking his temporary role as the new leader, he would still do everything in his power to make things run as smoothly as possible. Thankfully, over the period in which Zane had been absent, nothing of major importance had happened. This had made Nick's job a lot easier.

"Nick!" Suddenly called Serenity as she ran into his room.
