Mystery Boys

Mr. Edger  walked into the classroom looking very unhappy and concerned.

"Are you alright Mr. Edger?" Christiana asked.

"Uh yeah, I'm fine I just,

Umm… You guys feel free to do whatever you want today until the class ends, I'll just like to sit here at my desk and think, " Mr.Edger said.

Timothy knew Mr. Edger wanted to protect Mark and did whatever he could in his power to help him.

Timothy thought to himself saying, "my mind telling me he is gonna think it over and help Mark."  Timothy did not have anything to do to push time, so he just sat at his desk looking at the other students conversing about Mark.

"Timothy? Do you think it's  something wrong with Mark?" Josh asked.

"Naw, I don't think he's crazy, I think he just snapped and anyone would, including me, I always snap when Maron and D'Angelo bothers me, " Timothy said.

"In my opinion, I think the white boy is insane and what he did was really creepy when he made that threat about blowing up the school, that's when I really thought he was extremely crazy when he said that, I heard when white people get angry they go loco, " Josh said.

Timothy did not really listen to what Josh had said about Mark. He does well by sticking to his own opinions and not entertaining rumors. Timothy sat in silence for the whole period with his head lying face down on his desk.

3:15 came, and the class ended.  Mr. Edger's arms was placed behind his head and was staring at the papers on his desk.

As Timothy watches Mr.Edger's behavior. He did not think his mind was focusing on the papers, he was still thinking about Mark. Timothy got up from his seat and strolled towards Mr. Edger's desk.

"What's wrong Mr. Edger?" Timothy asked.

"I'm fine Timothy, you go on home, there is no homework assigned to you guys today," he said.

"Okay, Mr. Edger you have a nice day, " Timothy said.

"Yeah thanks, you too," Mr.Edger said.

Timothy left out the classroom thinking, "I hope he be okay, I'm sho glad he didn't give us no homework today though."

During the next day of class, the students were waiting on Mr. Edger to arrive. Timothy still could not stop thinking about Mark on what had happened to him yesterday. He felt that he did not deserve to be suspended or evaluated by a psychiatrist. Maron and D'Angelo were the ones who needed to see a psychiatrist instead. He felt that Mark was a good student who was always on time like he was coming to class everyday ready to learn something.

"Hello students I'm sorry I am late today, the traffic today was very heavy," Mr. Edger said strolling towards his desk.

Timothy thought,  "He's probably still worried about Mark."

"Please open up your books to page 311 on reproduction and development. Does anyone know what this chapter is going about? Anyone? Mr. Edger said.

Timothy looked around the classroom and no one had raised their hands.  Timothy slowly raised his hands.

"Yes Timothy, thank you," Mr. Edger said.

"I think this chapter is going to talk about how males and females organs reproduce," Timothy said.

"Yes, and do you know what is the term for a male sperm cells are called Timothy?" Mr. Edger said.

"Uhh, ain't it's called Testes?" Timothy asked.

"Yes Timothy thank you. At least someone has been doing their homework and studying through these chapters,  Testes are..." Mr. Edger said getting interrupted by the principal barging in the room.

"Mr. Edger, can I please speak to you for a minute?" Mr. Robertson said. "

"Uhmm, Yeah sure, okay class,  you guys can read through these chapters until I come back," Mr. Edger said.

While Mr. Edger had left out the classroom to speak to Mr. Robertson, everyone got loud and started whispering to each other about  Mark. Timothy thought  something terrible was going to happen. All the students got silent for a moment to listen to Mr. Robertson and Mr. Edger discuss about Mark. From the inside of the classroom, they could hear loud and clear.

"I want to talk to you about Mark's well being," Mr. Robertson said.

"What about him? How did the evaluation go?" Mr. Edger asked, looking worried.

"I contacted his parents this morning and they told me the evaluation went well and the psychiatrist did not see anything mentally or physically wrong with Mark…" Mr. Robertson stated.

"That's good to hear," Mr. Edger said.

"The psychiatrist thought he was a bright and intelligent boy who answered all of his questions correctly," Mr. Robertson said.

"Wow, that sounds like great news to hear that Mark is doing good," Mr. Edger said.

"That is not all  the news I want to apprise you with Mr. Edger, I have some bad news to tell you about Mark," Mr. Robertson said."

"Oh Jeez, well what is it?" Mr. Edger said curiously.

"Mark's parents have considered on moving back to South Carolina and transferring there to another school," Mr. Robertson said.

"Really? I guess that bullying really got to them," Mr.Edger said.

"Yeah it has taking a toll on them, fortunately they thought he would be better off being at another school that he would be more adapted to his kind in particular," Mr. Robertson said.

"You mean white people like myself?" Mr. Edger said with a frown on his face.

"Yeah his own kind like you," Mr. Robertson said.

"What's the race have to do with him transferring? I thought it was because of the bullying issues?" Mr. Edger asked.

"It is pretty much both," Mr. Robertson said.

"Well whatever school Mark is transferring to, the bullying is always going to continue no matter what. White kids bully each other and black kids bully each other, it is the same thing but the only difference is that they are different ethnicities. Do you agree with me?"

"Yeah I strongly agree with you Mr. Edger, but that's their decision and there is nothing we can do about it and don't you try to stir up your generosity and kindness to try to keep him from transferring," Mr. Robertson said.

"I wish I could do something about it, " Mr. Edger said.

"The problem is solved, don't try anything up your sleeves, understand me?" Mr. Robertson informed.

"Yeah I do understand," Mr. Edger said, nodding his head.

There were silence while Mr. Edger walked in the classroom.

Timothy could tell he was  feeling lamentable about Mark's situation of transferring to another school. Timothy did not know Mark personally but the first week he was there and til that day, he started to miss Mark. Although Mr. Edger had complied with Mr. Robertson on not stopping Mark from transferring.  Timothy  knew Mr. Edger were going to oblige in doing something about it. Timothy felt a little curious about where Mark stayed and wanted to help him too.
