"What's wrong?" Still panting, she asked; "Why did you stop?" Suddenly, she heard a loud knock on the door.

Her eyes widened. "Lara?" She cursed underneath her breath. It was Cedric. Shit! What is he doing here? Why is he looking for her?

Lara panicked. She wanted to respond and drive him away but Noah's possessive growl and the angry glint in his eyes stopped her.

"Noah," she called out to him. Noah tried to calm his wolf down even a little, but he was too preoccupied with himself to listen to her. The man standing outside the door was looking for his mate. Huh! Who is he, and why is my mate worried of him?

Cedric waited outside the door patiently. He didn't get a response, so he called for her again, thinking maybe she was already asleep.

"Pumpkin?" Still no response. "Are you there?"
