14. She was Late

Meanwhile, in another place, namely Brian's apartment. The man was sitting in the living room with a dark aura. His hands were clenched tightly into fists so that they accentuated the veins on his arms. His jaw tightened stiffly holding back anger.

The wall clock shows eight o'clock in the evening, but until now there has been no sign of Elena's arrival. Even Brian can't reach Elena. The woman's number was inactive since the afternoon. Brian clenched his fists even more until his nails turned white, remembering the words and promises that Elena said this morning.

'You take it easy, I won't run away. I'll come back here in the afternoon and bring some of my clothes. '

Elena promised to come back late in the evening, but until the evening she could not be reached. All that bullshit! Nonsense!

Brian grew angrier. His hands were itching so badly they wanted to punch someone at this time.

Brian thought back to what Elena said.

Elena still sat staring at Diego's operating room door. The girl put all her attention on Diego's surgery. She even skipped mealtime and continued to wait there.

Until finally the operating room door opened and a doctor came out. Elena quickly stood up and walked over to the doctor.

"How about him, doc?"

Elena wiped the windowpane as if she were touching Diego.

"Bro, please wake up quickly and recover. I need you." After being satisfied staring at Diego's face for quite a while, Elena walked away. She wanted to find food to fill her currently empty stomach.

Elena walked down the hospital hallways while occasionally rubbing her stomach. Her stomach is very sore right now, Elena has not eaten for more than eight hours. She seemed to be fasting.

As Elena passed the nursery. Her face was smiling broadly at several tiny babies who had just been born. What a beautiful baby. "Shit." Elena cursed when she found out that her cellphone died because of a low bet.

Elena widened her eyes, even more, when she saw the hospital wall clock that showed ten in the evening.
