New Training Plans

Axel didn't know why, but it had an obsession with learning new moves. He also told Pidgeotto to learn 'Wing Attack' from Charizard, which had leveled up to 40, making it sharper and stronger. Axel wanted Pidgeotto to learn the move as well, making it their training focus for the week.

Axel then looked at Charizard, which had greatly powered up and reached the elemental rank. It had recently ranked up to rare rank a few months ago. Charizard was now serious about training, as 7 of its moves had reached level 40. Charizard was the only one in Axel's team to achieve this, thanks to its passive move 'Flame Control,' which raised its fire temperature to 2500 degrees Celsius.

This boost in power happened when it defeated an enemy Charizard. If Charizard were at the pseudo-king rank right now, it would be the strongest in Axel's team.

Axel contemplated the possibility of Charizard reaching the pseudo-king rank in a month if it continued training with the same dedication. There were two reasons for this. First, Axel's talent had been upgraded and was now stronger.

Second, they were heading to an island filled with volcanoes and lava. If Axel could acquire resources related to fire types, there might be a chance for Charizard to rank up.

To begin Charizard's training, Axel used the weight training equipment, gradually increasing the weight to 10 kg on each wing. Unlike Pidgeotto, Charizard had no trouble handling this weight due to its elemental rank.

However, when the weight was increased to 20 kg per wing, Charizard started to struggle. Axel gave Charizard a training plan to help it fly comfortably with the added weight.

Next, Axel instructed Charizard to learn four moves:

1. Dragon breath

2. Will-O-Wisp

3. Earth power

4. Ancient power

###

1. Dragon breath: Charizard's hidden ability 'Solar power' would raise its sp. Attack but it didn't have any sp. Attack moves other than fire types like 'Flamethrower'. Learning 'Dragon breath' would solve one of its weaknesses. He wanted it to learn 'Solar beam', as it always used 'Sunny day' but he knew that the power of the 'Solar beam' would not be high like Gogoat. On the other hand, it was well versed in dragon-type attacks.

2. Will-O-Wisp: This was fire type move that would cause burn with 100% certainty if the move had been mastered. It would also lower the attack of the opponent.

3. Earth power: Charizard was weak to rock, electric and water types. It had already learned 'Thunder punch' for water types and 'Earth power' would be ideal for rock and electric type.

4. Ancient power: He had seen the effect of 'Ancient power' on Mamoswine. He wanted it to level it up to 40. He wanted to see, what would happen to it after it reaches level 40. Would it evolve further?

Axel obtained the TMs for 'Dragon Breath,' 'Will-O-Wisp,' and 'Earth Power' from Koga, who provided them free of charge. Charizard could learn 'Ancient Power' from Mamoswine. After teaching Charizard these moves and instructing it to practice, Axel turned his attention to Venusaur.

###

Venusaur would receive the most upgrades now. Axel had many plans for Venusaur, but since it was not fully evolved yet, he couldn't act on all of them. First, he wanted Venusaur to learn 'Field Control' from Gogoat, as he realized that the level 40 version of 'Field Control' was like a miniature Wood Release. If Venusaur could master 'Field Control' to its maximum potential, it would be able to use multiple Wood Release attacks.

Speaking of Gogoat, its 'Field Control' and 'Milk Drink' had reached level 40. Axel also wanted Gogoat to focus on 'Field Control' to have two Hashirama-level powers. However, since Gogoat primarily relied on physical attacks, Axel also instructed it to train in 'Grassy Glide,' 'Grassy Terrain,' and 'Horn Leech.'

'Horn Leech' was a unique move for Gogoat, as only two Pokémon species could learn it. Axel had some ideas for Gogoat's level-up and shared them with it.

With four Pokémon completed, there were still nine left. Axel found it challenging to manage so many Pokémon with diverse talents and training plans, but he loved each of them.

###

Shedinja recently underwent a significant power-up. Ghost-type Pokémon had subtypes such as darkness, shadow, and souls. Shedinja primarily focused on the shadow aspect, but its new move, 'Shadow Domain,' leaned toward the darkness path. Axel was pleased with this development but needed to think about how to further improve it.

He had two plans for Shedinja. First, he wanted to improve the mastery level of 'Shadow Domain.' Second, he aimed to level up 'Shadow Jump' and 'Substitute' to 40. Axel was aware of Shedinja's main weakness—its health. Despite rigorous training in escaping techniques, there was still a risk of Shedinja getting hurt.

'Shadow Domain' did cover this weakness to some extent, but Axel desired a backup plan, which involved leveling up 'Substitute' to 40. If 'Substitute' could act as a shadow clone, it would solve many problems for Shedinja.

###

Moving on to Alakazam, Axel only needed it to focus on 'Elemental Manipulation' and 'Greater Telekinesis.' These two moves had various uses and powers. Alakazam could manipulate 18 types of elements through 'Elemental Manipulation.' Axel had initially chosen fire and electric types for Alakazam as they were easier for it to comprehend. However, he wasn't in a hurry. First, he wanted 'Elemental Manipulation' to have a semi-solid form.

Axel realized that even explosions, such as 'Sludge Bomb,' had a semi-solid form. If Alakazam could achieve a semi-solid form in 'Elemental Manipulation,' it would significantly boost its power.
