Tunnel Game

They have been watching the clips for an hour now but were unable to find anything.

To Dayal, it seemed like the end. He was already frustrated by those orders from the higher authority and now they got one footage but it was not working.

"Did anyone here from Kunal recently? "Dayal asked all of a sudden.

" No"they all said in unison.

"Is he in the office now?Ask him to come. " He orders but not to a particular person. All of them looked at each other and were clueless to whom he had given the order.

They waited for him to pin-point on someone but Dayal was too zoned out to even know that. At last, Mon went out to call him.

Soon she returned with Kunal and Mr. Loy on either side.

"Kunal, you are here! '' Dayal says and lets him take a seat.

"Do you know about this tunnel? " He asks.

"Oh yes. I have seen this. It's not very known though. "

"Where did you find this clip, Dayal? " Loy asks, surprised.

"I searched a little bit. The strange thing is that there was no camera inside the tunnel. "

"Oh… really? "

"Hmm"

"Sir! Can we see the video from where the tunnel ends?" Jake asks.

"Yes.Did you find something? "He says as he presses the replay button.

"He is not using the siren anymore! " He states.

"Huh? " Dayal concentrates on the screen.

"That's why the neighbors didn't hear anything. " Sid says.

"Why all of a sudden would he switch off the siren, when he used it all the way till there? " Sam asks as she crosses her arms.

"Because he didn't want anyone to know about it. He didn't want to be seen by people. " Loy says, raising his eyebrows at her.

"Huh! " Sam says in disbelief.

"No! If he knew he would take that road and still use the sirens for the empty road, why would he turn it off the moment he came out of the tunnel? " Dayal says.

"I guess, we are confusing ourselves. What if something happened inside the tunnel which we can't see now? We need to ask him. " Kunal says.

"Kunal, can you give a rough estimation of time to cross the tunnel? If you remember it? " Jake asks.

"Ah yes. It takes about seven or six minutes. "

"How can you be so sure? " Loy asks.

He still feels insecure about Kunal.

"Aah… I take that road often. So… " Kunal says.

"Okay.Sid check what is the time when he entered the tunnel. Jake asks as he checks something else on the other clips.

"It's 1: 36 AM. What is it Jake? "Sid asks, confused by what Jake was up to all of a sudden.

"And it's 1: 49 when he gets out of the tunnel. See the difference! "

"Oh… but we cannot say that. This is not the way we prove things. " Loy says to Jake.

"Well I don't see any other way to prove this. " He says, shrugging his shoulder.

"Now stop. Loy let's hear his full explanation before jumping to any conclusion. " Dayal says with a grim smile.

Loy puts on a straight face.

"I just meant to say, we can't be sure about these things but what's wrong to try it? Like, if we assume that the ambulance was changed in between or maybe at least the driver.! "Jake blurted.

"What do you mean by Changed in between? How can an ambulance change in between a tunnel? " Sam asks.

"Well we are just looking at the sirens, what about the number plate? " Mon says all of a sudden as she checks the video.

"What? " They say in unison.

"Yes.The ambulance has got no name plate or maybe they just covered it the moment it came out "

Kunal adds.

They gazed at the screen. It was clearly showing the difference between the two clips.

"I wonder how I missed it? " Dayal says.

"So, what happened in between? " Kunal asks, intrigued.

"Wait. Has this lorry also been running at the same speed as the ambulance? How can they both come out at the same time?It should have crossed the ambulance,right?" Sam says.

"Exactly.Unless it has something to do with the ambulance! "

Jake agrees.

"These kinds of trucks carry vehicles,don't they? " Mon asks.

"Yes" They say in unison, as if understanding the whole story behind this scene.

"Can it be that the lorry carried the ambulance inside it? But were there two ambulances and they just exchanged them at that point? " Sid assumes.

"For that they must have asked the driver to do that. How can the driver agree to that? " Jake asks.

"If you are blackmailed or baited, you can agree. " Dayal says.

"So he was blackmailed?They must know about him from the beginning then? " Jake asks.

"Do you mean this whole situation was planned? I mean we know that Kunal and Miss Disha were already a part of their plan but now even this tunnel game? " Sid says, astonishingly.

"You never know! "

Dayal sighed.

Everything seemed to fall at their right place. Now, it looks like Dayal's choice for these officers and his efforts were not in vein. However, this case has always been full of uncertainties. So, he guessed it was too soon to be relaxed.

"What should we do now? " Loy finally speaks.

"We are still not sure about the thing with this lorry. We just need a clue or maybe someone to confess it? " Sid says.

"We need to show this to the driver. " Jake says.

"Also, find this truck. " Dayal orders.
