A mass of body tore through the sky, falling from as high as 600 meters with a huge water mass beneath. It was Byung, how did he get here? He was in the police station a few moments ago but as he inched closer to the water body, he could hear a faint voice but upon trying to make out what it said, it was established to be mere gibberish. Bracing for impact, he could swear he heard Jin's voice but falling at such pace, hearing the exact words proved a tantamount task. Bracing himself, he crashed into the water below him, going a couple of meters beneath the water surface but the weirdest thing occurred, the water turned to blood. Trying to swim back up, but it felt like weights were placed on his body. The more he struggled, the faster he drowned. As if he was being pulled, just before passing out, he saw a being he couldn't make out stand on the water surface, squinting his hardest to make out its appearance but all he could see was a toothless broad smile.
"Huh? Homeless gu-…..." Waking up with cold beads of sweat dripping down his forehead. This night looked like it was going to be a long one.
The night had passed without any noticeable hitch. The weather was pretty cold but luckily, it didn't rain. Byung had spent the night in the cell as the investigation continued but he was not forced, he simply understood the situation he was in and listened to the suggestion of Hayoon. He was not treated like a criminal as well but like a protected witness within those walls. Whatever it may be, Hayoon was extra cautious as she couldn't shake off this ominous feeling that she was missing something, something that if not figured out soon, could result in catastrophic consequence.
The sun rose like an eagle taking to the sky, the warmth of the rays pierced through the opened window, barred with metals to prevent escape but Byung was already awake, he couldn't sleep after that strange dream and it showed on his face.
"F*ck…." was the only word the escaped his mouth.
A-Yeong, Jin Woo, and Dohyun were walking on the street, on their way to visit Byung in his place of work but they were surprised seeing someone else at the counter but he had a much more friendly face to the eyes. Speaking of eyes, why did he have black shades on
"Hey you, where is Byung?" Dohyun asked in a voice that wasn't fitting of his towering height. It was soft and rather low pitched, almost a whisper but he got no response. Closer observation showed the young teenager was sleeping.
Dohyun was wearing a plain grey t-shirt with black trousers and a pair of white Slip-ons.
Jinwoo was spotted with his trademark sports jersey but this one was pink in color. He had on a dark grey baggy trousers and a pair of black and white Vans OG Old Skool LX Sneakers.
A-Yeong had on a green crop top that exposed her somewhat ripped abdomen, spotting a bomb short jean, blue in color, and a pair of white Espadrilles
"Boo!" Jinwoo screamed, sending the young teenager on his ass as Dohyun and he burst out laughing but A-Yeong had a straight face on as she whispered to herself "Men.".
After a few minutes of conversing, it was obvious the teenager had little to no knowledge about who Byung was or who even worked here. He was a new hire; they did not know of their master's demise. They assumed he was just on one of his many childish errands and this wasn't unusual. Sometimes they go months without hearing from him, that was simply the kind of man Jin was.
"Something doesn't feel right." A-Yeong said as they walked out the shop but Jinwoo was quick to reply "Hey! Maybe they fired him because of the mess we made..."
"We did overdo it, didn't we? Now, he thinks we are dirtbags for thrashing his shop. Good acting, by the way, Jinwoo. The others will hear of your bravery." He said the last part with a thumbs up and a cheeky smile.
"I wish you told this to miss she-hulk over here…" he mumbled but A-Yeong had heard him, kicking him in the crouch. Dropping to his knees in pain, then head first to the ground as he squirmed around in pain. "WHY DO YOU ALWAYS KICK THE BALLS!?" He yelled in anger, attracting attention from bystanders and A-Yeong trying her best to maintain her composure with Doyhun's hand seen protecting his crouch. "W-W-What a-are you doing?" She said, clearly embarrassed as she could almost hear the whispers of curious passers-by. Fast-paced, she hurried ahead of them before the walking evolved into a sprint.
"HOW CAN SHE ACT LIKE A BRUTE AND EXPECT PEOPLE TO TREAT HER LIKE A FREAKING LADY! SHE IS A BARBARIAN I TELL YOU! A BARBARIAN!" Jinwoo shouted with tears trickling down his face with pouted lips. "Hey, you are making a scene," Dohyun whispered.
"AND YOU GRABBING YOUR CROUCH ISN'T AWKWARD AT ALL!? I HAVE HAD ENOUGH, WHY AM I ALWAYS GETTING HIT BY THAT GORILLA! WHY CAN'T YOU CONTROL YOUR SISTER, ARE YOU NOT THE OLDER ONE!?" The tears kept pouring from his face.
Dohyun stood with a poker face as he thought to himself "He does have a point."
Meanwhile, at the police station, Byung was scheduled to be released but had to sign some papers of confidentiality to not disclose what has been discussed under any circumstances. Cho had arrived to greet him in the station, singing in a mocking voice "Ex-con, Ex-con. Careful! he has a gun." This put police officers on guard as they watched the singing Cho with suspicion.
"Hey, shut the f*ck up! Do you even know where you are dipsh*t!?" Byung said in a whisper while covering the mouth of Cho but he was surprised he didn't see Kwan.
"Hey, where is Kwan?" Asked Byung but a yawn was all he got from Cho.
"Ex-con, Ex-con. Careful! he has a bomb!" Cho continued with his singing in a mocking voice.
"Hey! How did I go from gun to bomb just like that! No! Never mind that! I thought I told you to cut it out!" Byung said with a hushed voice, clearly irritated by Cho.
"Fine, fine. I am hungry, Byung. Buy me some kimchi fried rice." Cho whined like a child but Byung couldn't be annoyed. He has been this way ever since he met him as a child. He was exceptionally talented at things; he could pick up the basics of most things with just a single look but this made him exceptionally lazy and with his good looks, he was quite famous with the ladies but always hung around with only Byung and Kwan, no one else. But Byung was not about to give this bratty adult some money. Heck! He just got out of prison for crying out loud but he smiled and nodded in compliance to just get him out the police station, but he knew not the danger that awaited him outdoors and this danger came in the form of a blind-sided tackle from Kwan the second Byung and Cho stepped outside the police station.
"Byung! Welcome back to society!" Kwan said, laying on top of him as Byung was sprawled in a weird position, but his leg was in an unnatural position.
"Oops, I think we might have gone too far," Cho said regarding Byung's now broken leg.
"Well, this is awkward." Kwan said in response as Byung let out a muffled inaudible voice in pain. A few minutes later, the ambulance came to take him to the hospital as he had broken a few ribs as well. Kwan was way too strong for his good.
Byung did not want them to follow him before they caused even more damage to his body and he made this pretty clear. "Get well soon, Byung!" Both shouted in unison while waving at the speeding ambulance vehicle.
Jin-Hyuk and Chaewon watched the entire proceedings with a raised brow. This was quite strange. Byung was nothing like they expected him to be, he was way more heinous than need is but Jin-Hyuk was a man that took orders seriously. One thing was certain, this boy was the missing piece to find it, they could feel the energy of Jin flowing within him, it was clear he imprinted on Byung.
This wasn't the result he had hoped for but luckily, he had a fall back plan to rely on
"Should we not retrieve him, Jin-Hyuk?" Chaewon asked but Jin-Hyuk had the thirstiest look that sent a blood-curdling chill up the spine of Chaewon as she found herself unable to speak all of a sudden, not due to any ability from Jin-Hyuk, but the immense killing intent that would make the gods question their own superior will, the look in his eyes were that of a man who had its prey in its sight but he didn't lose composure, not for a second.
Calmly, he watched Byung being carted away. "Follow the bus, Chaewon." Jin-Hyuk said with totality in his voice. She nodded her head as she turned her back to Jin-Hyuk but turned to ask.
"What about you?" Chaewon paused upon saying this, noticing Jin-Hyuk had his eyes on both Kwan and Cho.
"Don't worry about me. I know what must be done." The grin across his nefarious face clearly showed whatever he had planned, was bad news for Cho and Kwan.
