Tell the Truth

Meng Chao's expression became increasingly unpleasant. All of a sudden, he reached out and grabbed Lu Siya's wrist.

"What did you tell my parents?"

"Did you give them a false impression of our relationship?" he said in a deep voice.

"You're hurting me!"

Lu Siya's face was pale, and tears were welling up in her eyes.

Right then, Meng Chao remembered that her spirit meridians had been severed and that she had lost all her martial arts. She would temporarily or forever be a normal person who did not even have the strength to truss a chicken.

He snorted and released Lu Siya's wrist. "You lied to them?" he asked coldly.

"Meng Chao, I'm incredibly disappointed in you."

Lu Siya bit her lip and said, "You can doubt my stand, but you can't insult my intelligence. Do you think I need to lie to your parents about our relationship to get their approval and blessing?

"I've just been telling the truth and doing what I can."
