Reality Check

AVA

'I'm sorry for everything'. I slap a hand on my forehead.

'That's it, Ava? Sorry?' Ugh, I wanted to bang my head on a wall.

"It's not your fault, Ava," Xavier stated. I shook my head at him. My heart was hammering inside my chest and an intense burning fury was raging inside of me.

I was mad. I was mad at myself, mad at X. How could he? How could he use me?

I wanted to punch him. I curled my hands into fists. However, I need to calm myself down. This was not the right time for me to channel such negative energy. Besides, I had a feeling that this was what he had wanted me to feel.

It was not surprising. Now that I think about it, he must have found this amusing. It was some sort of a gift. A gift for me. He intended this to happen to see how I would react. He was no better than Marcus Zephanie. If anything, he was worse.
