We Are All Going To Die

After dealing with little Groot, and he went to sleep, I got to work. I started making cookies and sweets for hours. Grandma overlooked as I was doing them, making sure I didn't mess up. We had some small talk, and I felt she mostly wanted to speak with me and not help me with the cooking.

We kept at it for a few hours before she got tired, and I sent her off to bed with a massage. I then continued on cooking everything until I was out of materials.

With that out of the way, it was time to continue my training. It was something I couldn't stop myself from doing. It was a routine that I was addicted to. Seeing my stats and skill go up was satisfying to no end.

My Dexterity was already at 39 and the closest of my physical stats to 51. I decided I will focus solely on increasing it for the night. The best part was that working on Dexterity will also increase my Vitality.

I put my headphones on, created an ID with time dilation, and took off running. My head was still a mess, but this was a good way to distract myself. Just focus on increasing my Dexterity and forget about everything else.

+1 Dexterity

+1 Dexterity

...

I started at about 11 pm and finished at about 4 am. With the time dilation, that was 10 hours of nonstop running, jumping, and doing parkour around the city with just a simple break here and there to massage my muscles, but I finally did it.

[Due to Dexterity passing over 51, the skill, Cheetah's Speed, has been created.]

[Cheetah's Speed(Passive) Lvl. Max: The user is as fast as a cheetah. Movement Speed increased by 40%, Attack Speed increased by 40%, movement type skills increase 15% faster.]

I wasn't sure what my top speed was at this point, but without Mana Strengthening activated, I was running as fast as a car. With it activated, cars couldn't catch up to me at all. I was faster than Peter but still slower than Pietro.

My Vitality also gained 7 stats, but I thought of completing it tomorrow night since I wanted to grind some levels as well. The bow I got required me to be level 55, and it was a weapon that will severely increase my firepower.

I opened up a Skeleton ID and started farming the mobs. I killed about 100, and I was ready to use Exit ID and recreate it anew, but that's when it happened.

[Sense Danger increased to 6.]

I jumped out of the way of a large ice spike was about to skewer me. I turned around only to see a skeleton with three heads and six arms towering over the buildings.

[Skeleton King Lvl. 75]

{The Skeleton King, an amalgam of an archer, mage, and warrior, he is proficient at using all three fighting styles at the same time. He posses incredible physical strength and magical power.

The Skeleton King is resistant to piercing damage and dark magic, but weak to blunt damage, fire, and light magic.}

The Skeleton King was a high-level Boss, but I thought I could handle him since my Pyrokinesis is at a high level as well. However, I didn't understand why did he appear when I had killed the number of skeletons I kill normally.

"So, this is what you do in your free time."

I turned to see who else but Mordo looking at me with a smile.

"Hello, William." Mordo was wearing a new cloak plus the bracers I wanted to get for myself.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked, clearly surprised by his presence.

"I just took over the New York Sanctum from Daniel, just so the two of us could spend some quality time." Mordo's smile was anything but friendly.

"I regret nothing!" I said before jumping away, narrowly avoiding an arrow from the Skeleton King.

"I know you don't," Mordo said, preparing a spell.

I can talk with Mordo later, but the Skeleton King took priority. My Mana Strengthening was activated, so I dodge any attack thrown at me with ease.

Except for the lightning strikes, those hit me on a few occasions, but my HP was over 3 000 with the skill activated. I was able to take a few hits without too much issue. At least Lightning Resistance leveled up from that.

Mordo didn't have the same luxury and had to constantly keep shielding himself. He also served as a very good distraction for me while I kept firing fireballs at the Boss. Mordo was such a good tank.

I also made a clone for some additional firepower, but it wasn't much since he did only 10% of my damage. It was still better than nothing.

Every three hits from me destroyed a bone on the Skeleton King's body. Slowly but surely, the Boss' HP got chipped away. Mordo fired a few spells from time to time or hit it with his staff for some extra damage, which helped take him down.

The Skeleton King had a good HP regen, so it took us about half an hour of fighting for us to take him down. If it was only me, it could've very well taken me an hour or more. That was an annoying Boss since he had a lot of HP, but it was good for practicing my skills. I also leveled up four times since he was way higher than me.

Now that I knew his pattern, I planned on fighting him at least once or twice a day.

The moment the Skeleton King died, I ran as quickly as possible to grab the loot. I ain't letting Mordo have any of it!

I stored the stack of cash, bow, and book in my Inventory before Mordo came over.

"So, uh, what are you doing here again?" I asked while backing away from Mordo and his not so friendly smile. I also used Observe on the new cloak Mordo was wearing.

[Cloak of Resistance(Epic): Grants the wearer 40% Magical and Physical Resistance.]

Mordo had come prepared, and I was having none of that.

"I talked with the Ancient One, and we decided it was a good idea for me to spend some more time with you." Mordo continued walking towards me.

"What happened with not letting emotions cloud your judgment?!" He even had an equipment specificity to make my day miserable. Emotions were clearly clouding his judgment.

"Don't be like that. I'm here from the good of my heart. You have so much to learn, and I so much to teach. I only wish to help you!"

Good of my heart, my ass. I can sense a lie from a mile away. I'm a pathological liar! That shit doesn't work on me!

"I have all the books I need to study. The Ancient One gave them to me. If I need any help, I can always visit Kamar-Taj."

"Ah, but learning by firsthand experience is the fastest way to improve, and I'm more than happy to help you. Unless you wish to tell me something," Mordo said, his not so friendly smile never leaving his face.

"I do!" I quickly said, and he stopped.

"I regret nothing!" With that, I teleported to the other side of New York.

Mordo, however, followed after me. If anything else, he was persistent.

"Leave me alone! I have to prepare for school!"

[Lying increased to 23.]

"School starts in a few hours. I'm sure our lesson won't take that long," Mordo said.

"I have a baby to take care of!" That worked, and he stopped in place with a puzzled look.

"You have a baby?" Mordo looked confused.

"Yes! I'm a father!" I proudly declared. If I escape from this, I promise to shower you with all the love and affection you deserve, Baby Groot!

"Truly?"

"Yep, yep." I nodded quickly.

"Since when?"

"Uh... yesterday?" That's when I planted Groot.

"Would you mind showing me?" Mordo asked, still standing there with a confused look.

"No?" I said, and he started walking towards me.

"Maybe?"

In the end, I brought him over to Groot, and the little guy perked up the moment he saw me.

"I am Groot!" He said, with his tiny hands reaching out.

Ohhh, that was cute. If only he called me father or dad instead of mama!

I gently patted him on the head with a finger, and he cutely grabbed in happiness.

"This is your child? An alien plant life?" Mordo asked in astonishment.

"Yep! Ain't he the cutest?" I nodded while Groot played with my finger.

"I am Groot!" He looked so happy at my compliment.

"Oh, yes, you are." The little one was nothing like the big, bad Groot that wanted to take all of New York to space.

Mordo let out a sigh. "Fine, but this evening, we will have a lesson!"

"I'm going to a charity to bring food to those in need." I instantly said.

Mordo's face softened, but he still said. "Okay, then, tomorrow evening."

I didn't reply, but I was already thinking of ways to avoid than one as well.

There were still a few more hours left until school, so I decided to just improve my skills while a clone kept reading the books I had in my Inventory.

I also checked the loot I got from the Boss. The book was instantly consumed since it was an amazing ability!

[Electrokinesis(Active) Lvl. 1/100: Through the usage of mana, the user can create and manipulate lightning. MP cost depended on the shape and quantity of lightning. The higher the skill, the less MP it would cost for all actions. Damage depends on Intelligence.]

My second elemental magic! Oh, I was going to grind that Skeleton Boss for sure! He also used ice and fire magic, so I was really hoping he drops and ice book as well.

The other item was the bow, which was made out of bones.

[Skeleton King's Bow(Rare): The bow of the Skeleton King. When equipped, increases the user's Dexterity by 25 and Dark Damage by 25%.]

Bah, this is nothing compared to the Artifact Bow in my Inventory, but I can use it for the time being.

That also reminded me of the Enchanted Earring. I took it out and stared at it for a moment before I decided to just put it on.

Since I'm the Gamer, I didn't need to pierce my ear or anything like that, I just had to place in the equipment screen in my status. Simple and easy, just like that.

I was quite surprised when I got a pop-up telling me that accessories are set to visible, and I can change that in the Options.

...

I HAVE OPTIONS???

I immediately opened them up and started looking around. I had graphics and sound options, which I can use to make myself deaf or blind if I wanted to. What the heck?

I ignored those and checked the miscellaneous options. Those were the ones that interested me. I ticked off all the options for a visible helmet, accessories, and even weapon. I can equip a weapon, which will appear strapped on my back or hip and stay invisible until drawn. Wow!

There's even an auto-loot option! I ticked it on for now, but I might uncheck it if my Inventory starts becoming a mess.

With that out of the way, I started working on my lower-leveled Magical Skills.

Illusion Magic was something I wanted to see how life-like it can become. Can I level it up to the point where I can, for example, trick someone's sense of smell? Would I be able to change the tone of my voice with it?

Telekinesis was an obvious one to increase since I wanted to fly. Who didn't?

My new Electrokinesis was self-explanatory. Lightning bolts!

Those are the three skills I focused on until the start of school, and since I was able to cast three spells at the same time now, I worked on two of them at the same time while having a clone.

Mana Clone leveled up a couple of times, but sadly I wasn't able to make more than one. The replica's strength did increase, however. He now had 13% of my power.

School passed normally. During the breaks, I spent time with Jean and Kurt, who asked me about my visit to my relatives. Of course, I had to lie and say it went well.

After school, I returned home and called a taxi, so I can bring all the sweets/cookies and canned food to the destroyed part of New York. I couldn't just store everything in my Inventory and show up there with nothing. It will be quite suspicious how I suddenly got all of the food when I arrived with nothing on me.

After I paid the taxi, I dropped off the canned food with the people there and walked around while handing the sweets.

[Sense Danger increased to 7.]

I had just handed the last one when I heard someone growl from behind me, "That's him, the teleporter!"

I turned around to see the X-Men group looking at me in surprise. Well, that wasn't good.

I quickly cast Observe on all of them, to see what their intention was and what they thought about this. Since the skill was higher than the previous time I used it on them, I had a lot more information available to me.

Most of them were just surprised that it was me.

Warren was annoyed that I had dropped Toad on him. His back still hurt him a bit.

Kurt seemed hurt that I hadn't told him I had superpowers. Well, you didn't tell me as well!

Scott hated my guts, but I already knew that. What was interesting, however, that he was being manipulated by some man called Nathaniel Essex. That didn't seem good.

Jean was the last one I checked, and my eyes went wide.

"Oh, shit. We are going to die."
