OLIVER POV

"What's up with you today?"I squinted my eyebrows. "You are being... too cheesy today." 

"It's called being nice. It's something you need to work on." She nodded her head heavily in an attempt to tease me. I rolled my eyes but ended up laughing anyways. This is the second time I told anyone about Lucy. My heart feel a lot lighter. I glanced at the clock and realised it was 2 am in the morning.

"Hey, I will head out now. Take some rest, and try not to scare the whole floor again." I smirked. She rolled her eyes and snatched the crossword from me and started doing it herself. I chuckled at her before I excused myself.

I was walking down the hallway when I saw Ken coming towards me. He had a thick coat, which I guess was his, wrapped around him. They guy was taller and leaner than me, which made him look like a giant burrito.

"Going somewhere?" I asked him.

"Just strolling around. You?" He asked me the same thing. I shrugged indicating that its the same for me.

"Are you cold?" I asked him.

"No," He looked at me sceptically.

"Then what's with the fancy coat?" I teased him.

"If I need a reason to wear something, then I should walk around naked." His comeback made me laugh.

"Wanna check out the human quarters?" He asked me with an evil smirk.

"You want us to get kicked out of this place?" I asked him rhetorically.

"Come on, we will be fine. Don't be a mood killer." He whined. "..or you go wherever you want, I will take my leave." he said nonchalantly and started walking again.

"Wait!! I am coming too" I ran to catch up with his speed. On my peripheral vision. I saw him smirk. Most people won't notice it, but after being surrounded by criminals, I have become too much aware of my surroundings.

We were on the second floor this time. I was literally tip toeing at the moment, worried that we will be caught. I did not expect the humans to notice us, but what if one of Antoinette's ghost employee's found us.

"If we get caught, I am blaming everything on you!!"I whisper shunted at him. He rolled his eyes.

"It's not like I tricked you into coming here, quit being such a baby!" He said loudly. I quickly covered his mouth, and looked around panicked if anyone noticed us. Few humans passed through us, as we waited silently for few minutes before I released Ken.

"The humans can't hear us, but the ghosts can! be careful!" I scolded him. He pouted but did not say anything.

"Hey you alright!" I heard a high pitch voice directly from behind me, I turned around to see that she was looking directly at me. I looked around, which only confirmed my fears, that we were caught. 

"We were... just taking a walk." I told her nervously. It was hard to see properly in this dark, maybe that is why I do not recognize her from our ghost party from the previous day.

"We?" She asked, baffled and looked around.

That surprised me. I slightly turned my head and saw Ken looking at me. Then he shifted his gaze before he called out her. "Excuse me miss."

She did not budge at all, and continued gazing at me with a confusing expression. I realised that she was human and to verify I listened more intently, only to hear the soft throbbing heart of hers. 

"I was on the phone." I pointed at my ears and started laughing nervously to reduce the tension. She laughed as well, while blushing slightly.

"Sorry, I thought you were talking to yourself" She chuckled. "How stupid of me. I'm sorry I disturbed you, I should get going." She nodded awkwardly and ran away.

" I can't believe she bought the phone thing. You don't even have a phone." Ken chuckled.

"She thought I was wearing an earpiece, duh!" Ken mouth formed a circle as he understood me "Sometimes I forget that you are a grandpa stuck in physical form of twenty year old kid." I patted his back as I offered him my fake pity.

He swatted my hand away and glared at me for a moment, before he started walking again. I laughed but I followed him. 

"So, looks like Chloe isn't the only one who has hard time time controlling her Apparitions" Ken said after a whole minute of dead silence. (Pun intended).

"Yeah, I guess. Does this happen to everyone? When the first interact with living beings?" I asked him as I tilted my head. 

"More or less, It took me around few months before I could finally control it properly." He shrugged.

"Well this was my first time, I think I should learn it as soon as possible." Ken nodded, agreeing with me. "I hate to admit it, but I was kind of jealous how Chloe can do this so early into her ghost-hood, while all I learned was possession" I pouted unconsciously.

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, it took me almost an year to do this properly."He smirked.

"Why would that make me feel better. That makes me feel worse!!" I looked at him, wondering what was wrong with his brains.

"Well, that was the hope." He shrugged and laughed while I glared at him.

Suddenly I heard loud screaming noises coming from across the garden. We were busy walking, but we did not keep track of where we were going, so we ended up at the southernmost part of the building. It was hard to in the dark, but thanks to the bright light of the full moon, we could make out few things in the dark.

I saw an old under constructed building and like an echo I recalled a voice saying 'you must not go to the building in the situated right next to the garden'. That was the building we were told to avoid by Antoinette. This place seemed to hold a lot of its own secrets in itself, and for a person like me who was obsessed with satisfying every curiosity one can have, it took everything in me to prevent myself from going there.

I had broken one rule tonight, I should not risk it further by breaking another one. Ken and I glanced at each other and it was evident from our expressions we had a lot of questions. However, we did not say anything and returned to our own respecting rooms.
