Chapter 29: And they fall....

"Uhhh....it not that I don't trust you, I promise my grandfather. I would never tell anybody about it,"

"Understood, now your promise is mine. I would do nothing that puts you or green forest in danger,"

Hong Liu bit her lips thinking over it.

"Really, you won't tell anybody? Anything?" She pushes him away to give herself some space, he was unaffected he didn't even move. She felt she was trying to push a mountain, Hong Liu swallows at his proximity meeting his stone eyes, she blinked.

He nodded in answer.

"I took the gold dust pearl from the Eternal Garden of Creation to use as a binding agent to transfer the essence of green forest in the Crown Prince, but it was the only way to did without much injury to myself. It is already forbidden and I helped the Crown Prince if I go back now when everything is heated...." She flinches, she looks at her own hands that were cover by him. It was really odd and thrilling feeling to be so close to him. She knew by the accord she should push him away this is so inappropriate but she couldn't find the force in her hand or the will in her heart to do that.

"How do you pass the four monsters?" He asked. She injured herself anyway....he thought internally, but it was heavenly retribution, unavoidable.

His neutral and cool voice made her look up and meet his eyes, her breath hitched.

"Its because my wings, they got mystified and let me in," Hong Liu answer, and a few Lilly cakes sweet things put them to sleep but that she kept that to herself because it sounds so silly.

Dong Hai lean away from her releasing her hand, that was not he was expecting. He can't tell her to go there for him granted she went a few time but at this moment, he won't trust fate. He sighs internally and he turns that shook, Hong Liu, from her stupor. She shook her head to shake the last shiver that runs through her spine when the sandalwood scent was not teasing her nose. As he walked away, she realizes she has been tricked again! She groan internally. How can he do that twice making her lose her mind?

"Did you put another spell on me?" She asked annoyed.

He silently turns to look at her frowning face.

"No,"

His expression was so neutral that it annoyed her, why she so affected by him and she blurred out her secret and now he is walking away like it doesn't matter.

"How did you do it then?" She scowled at him.

"Did what?" He blinked.

She storms towards him, pointing to his chest.

"You know what! You make me tell things I didn't want to tell and then disappear, make me forget what I was here for or putting a sleeping spell on me!"

He still didn't express anything at her accusation, he just stares at her flushed face.

"What kind of spell you used this time to trick me?" She raised on her toes to match his hight even then she just comes under his chin.

"Don't think too much, you will get wrinkles in such a early age," He flicked his fingers on the centre of her forehead.

"Ow!" She exclaimed and the shock of his action made her lose her balance on the toes. She falls taking him with her and they both crash on the floor. Dong Hai put his one arm around her waist to break her fall and one hand on the back of her head instinctually but she grabbed him by the shoulder taking him with her to the ground.

Hong Liu ended up underneath him with her eyes squeeze shut and her fingers digging into his shoulder.

Dong Hai look at her as she laid down there not opening her eyes and he breathes as he eyes wander to her face, the softness of her cheeks and the curve of her chin and the straight short nose aligned with it were those full soft red...
