Following our older sibling to a path that I previously took, we took a detour with my siblings of the same birth. We arrived in a different part of the dungeon that seemed like a territory of other species.
We were on top of the room, like a balcony of some sort. There was what seems d like meet as the rodent looked like it was attracted to it. I was surprised that snakes can make bait—it allowed me to grasp a little of their intelligence.
The species was a familiar one as I just had the privilege to painfully eat it, raw. I am so honored (help me).
The older sibling stood in front as he looks like he was about to do something. He pulled his head as he spat out a green-colored liquid. It hit one of the rodents as it squeaked in pain and fell down. It twitched as the liquid appear to smoke and fry the little mammal alive.
I looked in fear as it jerked and screamed in pain as it took her final breathe, and die.
The older sibling looked at us and did the nodding movement in her head. For the first time in this life, I was actually excited about something. This was another sign of my species' intelligence as knowledge seemed to be passed from generation to generation.
I forgot about the fear of the rodent having a spasm and replaced it with the idea that I'm able to spit acid! Forget about that rodent, I can spit it to people I don't like someday!
I can only imagine spitting acid on my boss's face. Although I'd get punished for it, or even go to jail, but I'm a snake boy! You can't put snakes to jail! Maybe they would kill me though.
Anyway, while I was daydreaming of a paradise I can no longer grasp. My siblings were already practicing how to do the spit. Of course, me being all competitive, I joined in.
We were practicing all over the place as they tried to spit but nothing was happening.
Minutes later, when one of the snakes finally did it! Compared to our older sibling, however, it was really feeble. Unlike our older sibling, that reached from here to the ground, my twin sister just spat a meter.
However, she was suddenly praised by the older sibling as he took something from the back and gave it to her. Everyone went wild as they saw it was food! It only took another couple of minutes as others got the hang of it and getting their rewards.
Others had a more impressive spit than the first, others were worst. Me, however, I wasn't able to do it! What's the meaning of this!? I was the only one left as they watch me spit to exhaustion as nothing came out.
Calm down... you need to think of this. I just thought of it as a normal spit like when I was human but it clearly doesn't show results. Calm down.
I closed my eyes and concentrated...
If I remember correctly, snakes have fangs, and their fangs are connected to a venom gland... or acid gland?
I know that my kind uses acid as venom needs to be injected. I don't even think snakes own acid, but observing myself becoming a snake, I'm not surprised. They had the intelligence of humans. Socializing, teaching, the ability to farm animals through a bait. It was a sign of utmost great intellect.
Back to the topic, if I remember correctly. Their venom glands are below their eyes and if I can squeeze it then...
[You have learned the skill "Acid Spit"]
I suddenly felt the need to spit as I surprised myself! The acid was big, it wasn't as big as my older sibling's, but it was the biggest one that I observed. It was able to hit a wall and evaporated like a block of ice sprinkled with salt!
The hissing that my siblings made disappeared and my older sibling slithered close as he gently touched his forehead with mine. My eyes widened as the feeling of comfort run throughout my entire body. What is this? It felt so loving. It tingled through my brain as it felt like a "congratulations."
Trust me, I didn't even know it meant that. I just had a feeling it was.
Although it made me very happy, I was given a larger rodent than what I ate earlier—I think I'm gonna barf...
...
After that, we were taught how to use bait as we caught the rodents we previously ate. Don't look at me, I'm becoming more of a snake that I can't even complain anymore. (I miss cup noodles~)
It was easy at most and with my human brain, I was able to do it easy peasy. After that was an ambush, this is where my brain suddenly got overwhelmed.
We are currently in a different part of the cave. We were taught to ambush and individually try and capture unsuspecting prey. Of course, it is normal for a snake to be on ambush since it's originally their way of attack. Snakes burn out easily and they move really slow, so relying on a quick kill is the best way for them to survive.
What shocked me the most is that they were able to use venom! Yes, acid glands and venom glands on one snake. I can also prove that it wasn't acid injected...
[You have learned the skill "Venom"]
That, my friends, is venom. When I bit the rodent right in its neck, that panel appeared in front of me. I seemed to have instinctively released venom on my prey and learned it.
You know what? I'm not even gonna complain anymore. I tried to think of this as scientific as possible but with this, this isn't biologically possible. Not that I'm a scientist or anything.
Now that I think about it, what's this blue panel that always appears in front of me when I learn something new?
