Xianggu reminded Zhang Wang of Renlu in the sense that both demons and humans could be seen mingling about the streets. But what struck different about the place was the heavy tension that seemed to settle upon the streets no matter where one turned and looked.
Also unlike Renlu, Xianggu was a big city that was accustomed to strangers traveling to and fro. No one batted a lash when Zhang Wang and Yu Yanlin entered.

"We ought to find a place to rest for tonight. It is late." Yu Yanlin's soothing voice eased some of his ails. Zhang Wang took a deep breath before nodding.
