Chapter 14

Kyungsoo lead Johnny to the back of the library and opened up another door which lead into a smaller room that looked almost like an office, "This is where we keep the books of the lesser known, minor, or older gods."

Johnny nodded, "So you think it's in here?"

Kyungsoo shrugged, "I'm not sure. No ones ever requested it so I've never seen it in my lifetime. But if you want you can start on the other shelves and help me look."

"Okay." Johnny began to search through all the books. There were so many gods and titans that even he didn't know all of them because most of them like Leto haven't had a host in thousands and thousands of years. "Wow I didn't know there were so many gods."

Kyungsoo nodded, "Yes, a couple thousand years ago I thought I would study each and every god but eventually I gave up. There's simply to many. But if I may ask, why are you looking for a book about Leto specifically?"

Johnny sighed, "Well during the ceremony today, I believe that Y/n is the new host of Leto."

Kyungsoos eyes went wide, "Really? That's odd. Leto hasn't had a host in over 10,000 years, so why would they suddenly make Y/n the host?"

Johnny shook his head, "I don't know. That's why I'm here."

Kyungsoo and Johnny had been looking for what felt like hours and Johnnys eyes were starting to get really tired until he seen a very small book tucked into the corner of one of the shelves that read. -The Life and Origin of LETO-

"Kyungsoo, I found something." Johnny pulled out the book and admired it. It was quite small but it was very pretty the book was encased in a soft red fabric with a gold binding and lock.

Kyungsoo looked at the binding, "I should have the keys somewhere in my desk. I'll go look for them."

Johnny shook his head. "No need. I'm the master of locks."

Johnny walked over to one of the bookshelves and slammed the lock against it and the lock fell broken to the floor. Johnny smiled, "See."

Kyungsoo sighed, "I swear you're thousands of years old but you act like your only a hundred."

Johnny set the book on Kyungsoos desk so they could both see it. Johnny opened the book to the first page to reveal a beautiful painting of a woman holding a child.

Johnny ran his fingers across the painting, "This must have been the first host of Leto."

Kyungsoo nodded and flipped through the pages until they found one to read. "Leto is described to be the kindest in all Olympus, being always gentle and mild towards others, to both gods and men. However, according to some, she had a short temper and could be wrathful and merciless to those offended them."

Johnny nodded, "Doesn't seem so bad. Let's see what else the book says."

Johnny found another page, "Letos pregnancy? It says here that the first host of Leto was impregnated by... the first host of Zeus. It says she gave birth to twins but was shunned from all lands for mothering illegitimate children. She mothered the first hosts of Apollo and Artemis."

Kyungsoo looked to Johnny, "Wasn't the first host of Zeus married to the second Hera?"

Johnny nodded, "That's what I always thought but... what's all this?"

"Johnny you should go to Y/n right now. I'll stay here and read in your stead. If I find anything important I'll inform you."

Johnny nodded, "Okay, I am becoming quite tired. Thank you Kyungsoo."

Johnny left to see Y/n once he made it to his room he seen it was now dark outside and you were now asleep. So he wouldn't wake you he quietly sat on his side of the bed and soon fell asleep but not before he leaned over to kiss you goodnight.

-Kyungsoo in the Library-

When Johnny was reading aloud about the first pregnancy of Leto he remembered something he had read many years ago in a book of curses. So he gave Johnny reason to leave so he could look more through his books.

Kyungsoo skimmed through many of his books, "Ah here it is -Curses of the Gods-"

Kyungsoo found the page he was looking for and quietly read to himself, "If a god mothers a illegitimate child, her next host shall be cursed to do the same and the father will be cursed to the same fate."

Kyungsoo grabbed the nearest book about Zeus. He skimmed to the pages about the past hosts. "There was only one host before the current king Johnny. That was the first host who was married to the second Hera. He fathered many children with his wife Hera but he fathered twins with his lover Leto. But soon after Leto was impregnated Hera discovered Zeus's affair and shunned Leto from all lands."

He then grabbed the book about Leto to read about her past hosts. "Leto was the Titan god of motherhood and was believed to only have one host then was mother to Apollo and Artemis which was fathered by the King of the gods Zeus who was married to Hera at the time. Before Leto could give birth Hera shunned her from all land. Leto had to seek refuge on a island that wasn't attached to the sea floor so she could give birth to her twins."

Kyungsoo slid the books away from him but glanced at the book of curses one more time, "If a god mothers a illegitimate child, her next host shall be cursed to do the same and the father will be cursed to the same fate."

Kyungsoo was starting to realize what he uncovered. But he quickly closed all the books and hid them in his desk, "I can't reveal the curse, this could ruin Johnnys position as king. I must find a way to separate Johnny and Y/n before it's to late."
