Episode 102: Irony*

After hearing the news about the Elite Four's raid, the three of us decided to follow our own plans. Primarily, my main goal is to defeat the Elites who are closer to Giovanni and Mewtwo which are the ghost and ice type elites. On the other hand, Charlotte and Xavier make their way to Giovanni's room through a short cut. Their purpose is to protect the strongest Pokemon from being stolen by the intruders.

At a rapid pace, I run to the fourth sector. I could taste the bitterness of my sweat, flowing to my mouth as I gasp for air with my lungs burning as if they were set under fire. Inside me, is the sensation of two polar dynamic emotions, aggression and fear. The flickering red lights, serves as a pinch of worry, echoing to my ears that time is running out.

"I'm counting on you, Lily." I take her Pokeball from my belt and murmur unto it. She rarely makes an appearance, therefore this will be the right opportunity to use her.

Hall 23, the hall connecting sector two and sector three. The floor is filled with smoke and gas, a symbol of a dreaded fight that took place here, between the elites and the other grunts. If only if I could arrive much early, I would be able to help the other grunts.

Continuing my way to sector four, I halt for a moment, and take a glimpse on the nearby computer. Based on my observation, it seems to me Lorelei and Agatha are still in the same sector. I can also see Charlotte and Xavier inside Giovanni's room. The boss seems to be placing Mewtwo under the armor he has created in order to harness its powers. Once the extraction is complete, Mewtwo will become worthless for it serves no purpose anymore. All I need is to stall the elites for a while.

Finally, after a harsh run, I made it to Sector Four. However, the only thing I could see is bodies, frozen by the enemies while others, seem to be unconscious due to Gengar's curse. Everything seems silent, and the presence of Lorelei and Agatha could not be seen nor felt anywhere.

The silence, flickering lights, and the scattered bodies gives the room a frightening eerie as if I am inside a horror movie. Things start to escalate quickly when two red sharp eyes appear on the floor. I take a closer glimpse, as the red eyes surrounds itself with a familiar silhouette.

<Geng! Geng! Geng!>The Pokemon laughs hysterically, slowly rising from the floor like murky mud. Its color is black and not the original purple and behind me? I knew Agatha was watching me. I hear the sounds of footsteps, moving closer to me.

"Do you think you could defeat us alone?" Agatha queries, blocking my left path while Gengar blocks my right.

"No. You are an elite, and a girl like me has no capacity to knock out your Gengar. However, I won't be fighting Gengar today." I turn my body to her, and glared at her puny eyes.

"Your tricks are old, Luna. We are aware of what you can do." Another voice murmurs from behind, as Lorelei makes an approach. What have I gotten myself into? Two elites, blocking both of my sides. She then tosses her Pokeball to the sky, releasing her sheer cold Cloyster.

"When I first met you back in my cottage, I thought of you as a sweet and innocent teenager but it turns out you belong to the side of the enemy. Of course, I am not like you, and therefore I will give you an opportunity to come with us and leave this organization for good." Agatha bargains.

"Leave? Why would I leave the organization which satisfies me? If you want to fight, then go ahead. I am not afraid of your title." I boast, uttering my words in a sarcastic manner.

"Nothing is enough to satisfy one. I had given you a warning yet you declined it. I have no choice but to fight. Gengar, use Shadow Ball!"

"I shall do my part, Cloyster use Blizzard!"

From both sides, two attacks head towards me. A ball of twilight surrounded is shadowy veils, and a plethora of snow that could freeze my heart. In response, to this, I send out Lily before the attacks hit me. With her by my side, I command her to use Petal Blizzard not as an attack but as a shield.

The pink petals from Lily's attack, surrounds us, serving as a protective veil from the attacks. The petals then disperses right after the two attacks settled. It is my turn to make a move, hence I send out Mawile and Kirlia.

"Mawile, Ice Beam! Kirlia, use Psybeam!" I command, tilting my head from time to time in order to keep eye contact with the elites.

"Gengar Shadow Ball to counter!"

"Cloyster, intercept the attack with Ice Beam!"

"Lily, protect both of them with Petal Blizzard once more!"

<Lil! Lily!> She obeys right away, and sends out a plethora of petals to the two Pokemons, causing them to blast off towards their trainers. I may have broken the rules a bit by using three Pokemon against two.

Gengar bumps into Agatha causing her to stumble. Kirlia's Psybeam finishes them off by blasting them back to a wall, causing them to accidently hit a red button. From there, a holographic box emerges from the ground and traps the ghost elite. I remember the scenario from the PGC's headquarters wherein they placed me inside a test tube. I merely replicated the scenario, but instead of me, it was Agatha.

Back to Lorelei, the petals served as a distraction, causing Cloyster to flinch and allowing Mawile's Ice Beam to prevail. After being hit by the petals, Cloyster hits Lorelei's head and at the same time, Mawile's Ice beam hits both of them. Her skin turned pale, copying the skin of snow. Her fingers are numb, as her body slowly succumbs to the sheer frost. Such irony, to see the Ice Elite, defeated by the ice itself.

"Simple as that." I laugh hysterically, staring unto both of their pitiful bodies. Only time will tell when Gengar and Agatha will run out of breath, and as for Lorelei? She will soon perish from the bitter coldness. I stay a bit longer, staring at Agatha and her struggling Gengar. They may be smart when it comes to Pokemon Battling but not when it comes to unexpected scenarios.

I then make my way to a nearby computer to see how things are going. Cliff and Bruno seems to be fighting with one another, however, obviously, the elite has the upper hand. I can also see Lance, heading towards Giovanni's room.

I am left with a decision. It's either I save Cliff from Bruno or stop Lance who appears to be heading to Giovanni's room. Which path should I take? For a minute or two, I stop and think. The left path will take me to Cliff, however, I would be leading myself further from the room. The right path on the other hand takes me to Giovanni.

"Right." I murmur to myself, after realizing Charlotte and Xavier. I remember, they are with the boss, therefore Lance will be a breeze to take care of. Without another moment to waste, I choose the left path which would soon lead me to Bruno and Cliff. Two Elites down, two more left to go.
