Asking For Help

All of them cheers when seeing the guards coming to the location… all of them except our main character, 'I have a bad feeling about this!'

He said it to himself, almost telling all the people in the room almost immediately, but stopped himself for doing so and waited for the decision the guards will take.

All the people in the room rushed to the window and not letting their attention leaving the city guards that are already close to the angry nobles at the middle of the street.

Arden quickly pushes them aside and look outside himself. He saw the guards talking for a few seconds and saw right into the direction of the window before leaving the scene.

That's when he noticed his feeling has come true and dropped down to the floor and immediately covered his eyes and began laughing "Hahaha hahaha"

Everybody watched him laugh loudly across the room, even the nobles outside the room shouted, "What are you laughing there! You will get killed by us sooner or later!"

Theo rushed to the window and examine the situation. At first, he was calm and doesn't lose his cool, then he realized the guard is nowhere to be found.

"The guard left! What can we do now!" Theo told the whole room about this, resulting in panic from everybody in the room.

Arden is still laughing loudly but quickly got stopped by his pet that came to him and began rubbing its head to his leg.

'What does this pet want?' Arden looked at it for a few seconds before realizing a genius plan.

"We could use this pet to deliver a message to the other families!" Everybody turned their attention to Arden and realized it would be a good plan.

"I'll search for the paper and quill! Arden, you think what you going to write in the letter!" Theo moved like never before and began searching in the whole room.

'What should I write in it? Who will be the recipient of this letter, though?' Arden asks himself before realizing something from when he entered the town.

'Those tents outside of the wall, I recognized most of the flag flying above the tents, that must be the place where all the warrior based house are residing! I never saw any merchants houses from the list of nobles there,' He then rises the small white tiger like a baby and makes it face the direction over and over, making sure it remembers where it needs to go.

After some time of doing it over and over, the white tiger looked around him and nodded while its face showed a little dizzy, Arden quickly dropped it to the floor.

At the very same time, Theo came rushing to him with a piece of paper and a jar full of ink and quill in it. Arden said, "Thanks!" before writing the letter.

He began writing vigorously and not even stopping for a second to think about what he is going to write next. The people inside the room were amazed seeing the 22 years old man write a piece of letter like drinking water.

One says the writing process could be fast, but not without flaw. Arden himself corrected many words by covering it with ink. After a few minutes, it was done.

He lifted the piece of paper and began reading it in his mind, 'From Arden, Baron of Aselwey, I and my servants are being surrounded at the city by the merchants based nobles, the door holding them wouldn't last much longer, whoever could send help, please do, I would be very thankful and you will be in my debt, Arden"

After he is done writing the letter, Theo approached him with an extended arm, in his hand is a soft texture looking rope, "Here is the rope, we will need this if we want to send a letter safely to the others"

Arden smiled before taking it from his hand and say a short, "thanks" then, he kneels down to the floor and began tying the rope around the body of his white tiger. After that, he slips the folded paper between the rope and the soft fur of his pet.

He then opens the window and picks up the letter carrier and placed it outside the window. Almost immediately, he closed the window, not wanting anyone to see the place they can breakthrough.

Fortunately, God is in his side, his pet has begun running since it gets out of the window and is at the full speed. Jumping between roofs of the building and houses in the city.

Meanwhile, Arden and the other sat down at the floor and waited impatiently for the help they are asking. Considering the fear they are having at the time, all humans would do the same.

Suddenly, Arden heard a pounding on the door become clearer and clearer in his ear. He quickly turns his head around it and began asking the question, "Hey, you guys heard that? The pounding sound"

All of them looked at him with a scared and confused look at the same time. Theo even not believing him and treats it as a joke, "Hey hey, don't joke around, you scare me"

At the same time, the pile of furniture and items started shaking and all of them instantly stand up and began looking at each other. All of them started panicking and didn't know what to do.

That's when Arden began to calm himself and the other. It didn't work. All of them looked at him with a face that has a hidden message at it "How tf are you supposed to stay calm at this time"

With his best commanding and deep voice, he began ordering around and said everything that pops up in his head, "Theo, you move the more furniture to block the door, both of you boy, go help Theo, after you all are done, unsheathe your sword and prepare to fight, I will pay attention outside this house from the window"

All of them making "bruh" face knowing Arden just didn't want to wear himself out, but no one really complains. All of them knew complaining at this urgent time wouldn't be a good idea.

Arden himself approached the window and closed his eyes and calmed his breath. Preparing for a fight just a few minutes away from it while hoping for the help he asked would come.

He stayed at that posture for a few minutes before he heard the sound of a sword being unsheathed from its scabbard. With his best cool and a badass voice like a dad seeing his daughter getting bullied, he said, "Looks like you guys are done"

All of them except Theo began preparing their self mentally, Theo can't do shit, he is not a fighter. Nor are the two young boys, only 13 and 14 at the time.

Both of the boys came to him multiple times asking for question and inspiration, "You guys have trained with a real soldier, it won't be a problem. Both of you are strong, right?"

That's what he gives to the boys as a response. Both of them nodded and said to each other, "Yes, we are strong, we can do it and protect innocent people"

The sound of the pounding becomes bigger and louder as every second passes. Arden smiled, knowing this is a good thing for him, 'By the time they burst through the door, all of them must be very tired because their stamina is not as good as the one that trains a lot. I and the boys could easily defend against them!"

Surprisingly, his thought was disrupted by Theo going around him and waving in front of his eyes. He realized it and ask him, "Yea? You need help with anything?"

Theo looked at him before turning his head to another direction and then at Arden once again, "I don't want others to be bothered for myself, I will fight too!"

He said energetically and then looked at the other direction once again before approaching it. Arden looked at what Theo is doing and realized there is a sword hanging on the wall.

He examined it for a few seconds before saying to himself, 'That's a very normal sword… It's good for combat then! Normal swords are better than those decorative ones that is for display'

Arden smiled before approaching Theo and began teaching him moves and stuff. At least block and parry are taught by him to the newbie. Even the 2 boys paid attention to him from a distance.

Arden said to all of them, "I don't have high hopes with all of you, but… The more the merrier, right?"

They cheered and said, "Yes!" enthusiastically even after hearing their self as a bad thing in front of his eyes.

Arden couldn't help but laugh while covering his mouth after seeing the 3 people in front of him not know he is talking about them.

Suddenly, he heard the pounding sound at the door becoming louder and louder. He knew the door won't last much longer. It would fall in 5 minutes, probably less.

That's when he decided to discuss about the formation with the group. With his sword pointing to the ground, he carved the word with a formation.

"I will be in the front, Maverick will be in my left while Theo and Austin will be positioned beside me on the right, everyone understands?" Arden said it to them while keeping his voice down.

"Yes, sir!" They moved to their position and wait for whatever is behind that door. The tension skyrocketed. All of them are nervous but managed to calm their self down.

Then, the door couldn't hold it anymore and the barricade of the furniture got pushed out of the way.
