Qin Zhan's Family

"This person again," Luo Qi mumbled to herself, but her words were heard by both Gu Xin Ye and Luo Jun who stood beside her.

Gu Xin Ye stared at the man in suits and could not help but notice that he was good looking. Judging from the way he dressed, Gu Xin Ye had a feeling that he was not some manager from any of her F&B's rival. In fact, this man gave an aura of someone with a lot of money.

Anyway, if he was someone from their rival company, Gu Xin Ye was positive that she would be able to recognize that man.

"You guys should go back first," Qin Zhan spoke as to the three of them. Then, he walked over to that man on suits and the two of them chatted. Although Gu Xin Ye did not know what the two were discussing about, she could sense that Qin Zhan was acting very polite towards the man.

Gu Xin Ye exchanged a glance with the two siblings and asked, "What happened? Who was that guy? Will he make trouble?"

Luo Qi lifted her head and stared at Gu Xin Ye for a few seconds. She recalled that Gu Xin Ye was presented during the time the city people came to recruit her uncle to work for them and shrugged. "I don't know very well. But I heard little uncle called him as Brother Zhou the last time."

"Little uncle told me that that person is his cousin," Luo Jun added.

Luo Qi turned to her brother and frowned. "Little uncle told you that?"

"En." Luo Jun nodded. "I asked Little Uncle the last time that man showed up and that was what little uncle told me."

Gu Xin Ye rubbed at her chin as she continued to listen to the siblings' words. As far as she knew, Qin Zhan was an orphan. His mother and father died early and at one time, he spent a few years in an orphanage until he grew up.

She had never heard that Qin Zhan had any family members. So, where did this cousin appeared from?

Or perhaps, was her initial investigation was wrong?

Suddenly, Gu Xin Ye started to notice something amiss. The two siblings, Luo Qi and Luo Jun always called Qin Zhan as Little Uncle. Since Qin Zhan was an orphan, where did this niece and nephew came from?

Unless if they weren't really his niece and nephew...

Gu Xin Ye's frowned as she thought about Wang Zhi Wei who she would often address as Uncle Wang. That person was not related to her in any way, but she still had to address him as her uncle as he was her late father's sworn-brother.

As the thought came to her mind, Gu Xin Ye glanced at Qin Zhan who continued to chat with that person in suit politely.

It seemed that Qin Zhan had a few secrets. Perhaps if she learned of his secret, she would find out Qin Zhan's weakness. Then she would be able to coax him into working for her!

Gu Xin Ye's eyes widened as the idea cruised in her mind. A grin appeared on her lips and she then bid the two siblings goodbyes before she headed back to the inn. Of course, while walking away from the noodle stand, Gu Xin Ye took her chance to peek at the luxury car's license plate number.

After she stripped off her sweaty shirt and jeans and taking a long shower, Gu Xin Ye began to feel refreshed again. While drying her hair with a towel, Gu Xin Ye picked up her phone and started to dial her friend, Shen Yi Nian's number.

"Gu Xin Ye, how is it? Did you managed to figure out how to ask Chef Qin to come back to the city and work for you?" Shen Yi Nian did not bother with pleasantry.

Gu Xin Ye let out a loud, heavy sigh. "If I know how to ask him to come and work for me, do you think I will continue to stay here? No. I would ask Lin Qiao to come over and pick me up. Living in this town is hard."

Shen Yi Nian's laughter could be heard on the other line. "Don't tell me that you have given up?"

"Do I look like someone who would give up easily?" Gu Xin Ye snorted. "Anyway, Shen Yi Nian, I have something I wanted you to find out," she said before she started to tell Shen Yi Nian of the situation about Qin Zhan and the man she had seen earlier today. "Can you help me figure out who that plate number belong to?"

"This number looked special. I can help you to look at them," Shen Yi Nian said. "Just that… I'm confused. Why do you always ask me to go around and investigate things? You have not forgotten that I'm a reporter, not a private investigator, right?"

"Of course I know that," Gu Xin Ye rolled her eyes. "But you also know that I cannot move around freely. Wang Zhi Wei always had his eyes on me. If I go and contact a private investigator on my own accord, he was going to find out about it and meddle with my business."

Anyway, it would not be the first time that Wang Zhi Wei would meddle in her business.

Gu Xin Ye could never understand why her father had entrusted someone like Wang Zhi Wei to look over her. In her opinion, Gu Xin Ye did not think that Wang Zhi Wei was ready to give the company back to her.

Why else would he go against her all the time? Why else would he have someone to spy at her all the time?

Speaking of a spy, Gu Xin Ye still has not figured out who among her subordinate was working with Wang Zhi Wei and dared to report her every move to him.

"It's safer if I do things through you," Gu Xin Ye reasoned.

"Alright. I know," Shen Yi Nian said after she heard her friend's long speech on why she had to entrust everything to her. "Give me a few days. I'll tell you if the investigation is out."
