44.What Mario doesn't know...

The trucks speed up as they could see one of the walls slowly lowering down. Luckily there were no bigger ditches around or they would be in trouble. Mario gritted his teeth as he thought that they could have lost this much food. This amount of wheat will be enough for all of them for a long time.

Truck after truck entered the huge space and they parked so that everyone could enter. Luckily, everyone who drove was good in it so the entering itself didn't take a long time.

Mario had a mask on his face when he went down to the main office, but this time, he couldn't just enter as he wished. On the main door stood two of his people and shook their heads when they saw him. ''Sorry, sir, you have been banished from this place. Boss is extremely pissed off. And when she is angry, it's better not to bother her.''

Mario froze in the spot but then just nodded. ''I understand. Tell her I will wait for her at home.''

One of the soldiers shook his head as he heard his words. ''You are banished from her level as well. I fear that for a while, she does not wish to have anything to do with you, sir.'' His words were respectful but still distant.

When did that happen? When did everyone start listening only to her commands? While he was in the elevator, he realized that everything started from the first day. Even if she was not a big person, but her smooth and kind personality would be from time to time exchanged with a real leader.

Maybe it is better that way. Handling all these people, that are scrunched together on such a small space, if she is still weak she wouldn't be able to handle everything. He chuckled. But then chocked as Aisa entered and sighed when she saw him.

''Uncle, what have you done to mom? In my short life, I never saw her mad. This time, you really messed up. Didn't you?'' Her straightforward words were something he didn't expect of this child.

But he had to admit it. She asked him not to go as the situation outside was getting more complicated. He still didn't listen to her words.

Aisa saw him thinking about it and then shook her head. ''You still have no idea what you did wrong? Right?'' As she saw his slight nod a long sigh came out her mouth and she rolled her eyes. ''Grown ups are so complicated. Let's sit down and I will explain to you. She grabbed his hand and went to the nearby park to talk to him.

''Uncle, now tell me, what do you think about my mom?'' She comfortably sat down and turned her head while asking him.

''She is amazing. She is smart, pretty, interesting and at the same time strong-willed. I like many things on her.'' He tried to explain in simple words but saw the child again rolling her eyes. ''What?''

''You really have no idea, do you? Now tell me something, did you ever listen to what she said or just passed by her advice?'' Her words meant something but Mario just blankly looked at her.

Aisa really had at that moment the feeling to beat him up. Now she understands why she is so upset. this man is strong, cute and good, but in certain situations, some things must be explained to him as he had absolutely no idea about women.

He could see her holding her head and then patting her chest and he got worried. ''Are you ok? Should I bring you to the doctor's office?'' The concern in his voice was really not fake so she just gave up and tried to explain to him.

''Mom is different than other women. We have been living like mice before. Always in house. My father has that gift to make someone feel doing something willingly even if they didn't have that wish before. He made mom turn from passionate adventurist and strong woman into someone who likes hiding in the house and never leaving her space. That how amazing his skill was.'' Aisa thought about all the things hse remembered.

Mario's eyes became thinge older when he heard that. ''Your mother was quite a sparkly child when she was little. When I saw her on the ship and saw her shaking and fear, I really wished to kick myself into butt as I thought it was my fault. But later on, when I got all the new information about her life I became confused more and more. Now I understand...''

Aisa nodded. ''Mom has an amazing brain and now she is back to her own self. But this time do you know why she was so upset?''

Mario sighed and nodded. ''I know, but as I couldn't do anything else for her or this place I felt if I could save at least some of food... I was wrong. I know how many fears she had to get me back here and how much stress she had. It seems she had the same stress again.''

''The zombies are gathering on one spot and are about to evolve and you think about lost crop? Do you know that she didn't sleep again whole time? Now that you are inside what do you think she will do with you?'' Aisa stared at him and saw his forehead wrinkling up.

''I won't be able to leave this place or she will kick me out?'' His guess should be, right, right?

But what he saw was flat expression. ''Uncle... I think you are dumb. You are indeed strong, cute and good. But your brain doesn't work well as it seems.''

He blinked at her comment. ''You... sigh. What did I say now wrong?''

Suddenly behind them, a long sigh could be heard. ''I am really ashamed to have you as my brother. Where did that brain go that could find all the world information. Where did that man of former agents go? You were always so smart, smarter than all of us. Brother, what actually happened to you?''

Oliver could see Aisa and Mario even from far. But when he heard their conversation he felt like beating this brother of his.

''Aisa, you should go now. Boss told me to send you home. It seems she saw you two talking on one of the cams. Mario, come with me. We need to talk. Let's go to your apartment.'' Oliver patted Aisa's head in passing and went towards the apartment building.

The elevators in the apartment buildings worked only five times a day so when they saw a crowd of older people waiting for it, they chose to walk up. Silence prevailed as only their steps could be heard. As they lived on the top floor of the building it took them some time to walk up, but not one word was spoken.

As they entered his apartment Oliver and Mario started turning on all kinds of devices and then went to the next room to sit in mid of glass walls. Just then Mario took off his mask and grunted. ''This is bothersome... How long do I have to pretend to be stupid? I hate it so much. I will lose her if I continue doing it this way. Oliver, we need to find those rats soon, I really miss her. I want to hold her in my arms comfortably and not act like a complete moron around her. This is so hard.''

Mario held his head with both hands and his shoulders slumped as he closed his eyes.

He could feel a soft pat on his head. ''Mario, so many years we prepared for this kind of possibility. I just didn't expect she would run into us. Luckily she met us. All the preparations inside the shelter, how long did it take for you to prepare? Those dreams you had since you were little were so vivid you almost ended up in the ward. Luckily you stopped talking about it and they took it only as your nightmares after watching some movies. But Mario, what should we do? She needs to know her past. her real past.''

Mario nodded. ''She definitely needs to remember past. If she does many things will become clear to her. I miss her so much...''

The two of them stopped talking and Olive left back home while Mario just laid down on a simple army bed and covered his eyes with his arm. ''Emma, I miss you so much. I wish that I can explain everything, but I just can't. It is not the time...''

While he was whispering those things she shook her head and tared ta Aisa next to herself. ''He is indeed smart person, but in some things, he is really dumb, isn't he?''

Aisa just shook her head. ''My new dad needs some more brain it seems, but he is cute. When I grow up I want to get married with someone like him. He is so overprotective, cute, caring, smart, strong and on top of it so good looking. Just his brain for your emotions, he has no idea. Thinking about it, maybe he has no idea how to handle women? Mom, what if he never had a woman before so he has no idea what to do? I still think he is the best person to become my dad.''

Emma chuckled. ''I think so too. It is time that I talk to him, earnestly. this can't go on for a long time. I already caught all his rats. Maybe he will like that present, the problem is only, how should we explain that person to him?''

They both shook their heads as their fingers flew over keyboards. In multiple screens, a bunch of people were stuck together on a small space and had real fear written all over their faces. That person as well...
