Chapter 87 - Over Estimated Her Good Character

Work piled up for Tim on a Tuesday. His schedule was full packed. Upon returning to his apartment early in the morning he is not able to sleep anymore. He did exercised and went tot he office a before 8am.

"Mr. Connor is busy, he is in a meeting now. I'll take your message and relay."

Around 10am, Tim went out to hand over a document that has to be rushed to Finance.

"Sir, the assistant of Miss Lissy just called asking for your availability. She requested if you squeeze in 10 minutes of your time today."

"You do know how full packed my schedule is right? You know what to do."

The assistant could only accept the order. She was confused, there were rumors that they are married already. It is weird that Lissy is asking for an appointment with Tim. 'Do you really need an appointment to talk your husband? Can't they do it at home?'

Right before seating Tim received a message, thinking it was Pam he immediately opened only to find out its from Lissy.

Lissy: I have tendered my resignation. Can I see you before I leave?

Tim: I'll check, I have tons of work to attend. Goodluck!

He then opened a new message this time sending to Pam.

Tim: Don't forget your lunch My Queen. ILY

In less than a minute he got a response, a picture showing pasta and slice of baguette.

Pam: Just has this, enjoy yours in next 2 hours! Love you too.

Lissy is losing her patience. She is wondering what pettiness has got into Tim. She will make sure they talk before she leaves by Friday.

She heard a knock it's Dindin, "Lissy I have arranged for the documentation of the car turn over back to the company, you can buy it back at 30% lower than the market value according to Finance."

"I don't need it anymore." She stopped and thought about it, "if you are interested I agree to it and you can purchase it?"

The car was a Honda Civic, pretty decent car. Dindin knew how seldom the car ha been used so she grabbed the opportunity.

"If you offer that to me I will gladly accept! Thank you so much!"

"I should be thanking you Dindin for your hard work. I am sorry that I cannot being you to Shanghai."

"No worries, I don't think I will be used to leaving my parents behind. " Dindin said this with all honesty, she has been hardworking al these years but she is committed to her job and not necessarily with Lissy.

"By the way there is no need to call Tim, I am seeing him later," Lissy said as if with full confidence that she got the confirmation.

"Got it, he can always have time for you on personal hours." Dindin smiles as she walked away. She does not have any clue of the current status of Lissy and Tim's relationship. All the while she thought they are still together.

Lissy was in deep thought with what Dindin said. Previously Tim would always have time for her. Whenever she expressed hint of seeing him, he would find a way. He must have been really hurt by getting rejected by her. If odds are against her then she might reconcile with him and agree to be married sooner.

A week before leaving back to Shanghai.

It was almost 8PM when when Tim finished his last teleconference call. He let his assistant go home already as there is nothing else he needed from her.

He loosened his tie and cracked his neck to relieve of the stress from whole day's work. Closing his laptop he heard a sound of footsteps getting near his office. The door is opened so he could clearly hear the sound with almost all employees out of the building already. He had an idea who is coming.

Standing in front his office door, Lissy was wearing a black fitted dress that goes just below her knees. It showed her curves without being too sexy, very typical fashion of her in the office. She stood there beaming with confidence.

"Can you now spare 10 minutes of your time Tim?"

Tim looked at her with straight face and said in plain tone, "what do you need 10 minutes of my time for?"

"I hope you don't mind," she walked inside the room and stood in front of his table. "I know you must have been hurt with our engagement getting off. I understand you want to settle and be married to me soon. I truly hope you understand that I am doing this for myself so I can be ready wholeheartedly to be by your side in the future."

Tim was appalled with what Lissy has said but he did not show any trace of such emotion on his face. If he had not known, he will fall into her meekness. 'Was she always like this before?' He even thought he saw Pam in her.

"I don't get were this is going, please tell what you are driving Lissy? I may misunderstand." Tim is always straight forward although he had always been gentle with Lissy he is a man after all. Mincing of words is unnecessary at this point.

"I want you to know that I still care about you. I am trying to fulfill my dream. I am not sure if you are willing to wait for me when I return. I know people does not know our engagement is off, if I find you standing in the same place I will run to you." She has to keep him in her options. Tim has anyway made a declaration that they are married.

Tim was laughing inside, 'trying to play a dangerous game with me huh? I have overestimated your good character!'

He can only be as gentleman as possible, "Lissy, you have the freedom to reach your dream. I am happy for you on that note. You won't find me standing in the same spot when you return. I can assure you that."

Lissy was a bit startled as how resolute Tim would be. Could it be that he is really married? To that cheap girl she saw on Instagram? She calmed herself keeping her dignified composure. However, this composure was almost shattered when Tim's mobile phone rang. She could clearly see from where she is standing the caller ID.

'My Queen'.

She came with two objectives in mind, to place a seed in Tim's heart of her possible return and to confirm if he has married someone else.
