Talking to the Guan Siblings

Yun offered the siblings tea while they waited for Yang to join them while Zhen Luo was sitting beside him judging Guan Feng if she was worthy of her son since she raised Yang as her own son.

"So, what do you think of my son after spying on him for the last week?" asks Zhen Luo curiously wanting to paint herself an image of Guan Feng.

"Well, I think that he will be a great addition to any army he joins going by him sparring with the General who uses the sword with the chain attached to it," says Guan Xing taking the opportunity to speak first when he sees a wry smile on Yun's face while a playful smile appears on Zhen Luo's.

"Yang won't be joining the Military since I have set him on another path to create a branch family in said path," says Yun seriously as he picks up his teacup and drinks from it slowly.

"What?" asks Guan Feng now surprised making Zhen Luo's smile grow bigger.

"Yes, my husband wants to expand the Zhao Family. For that, he put Yang on the path to enter the Murim soon. He would need a strong wife by his side since the Murim is more ruthless than our current one," says Zhen Luo playfully as she was still gathering information on Guan Feng by studying her body language, tone, and moves.

Yun, on the other hand, had other worries which included Cao Tai's and Rin's wedding on one hand and the future fight for Jing on the other.

He was sure that Yang would survive in the Murim easily even if he didn't marry Guan Feng as Yang was taught Baldr's Art by Yun or at least a fraction of it which should make it possible for him to defeat most of the Murim Warriors on his own.

"But why would you waste someone that strong to the Murim? He could bring peace to the Empire easily," says Guan Xing still not believing what Yun just said.

"Formerly it would have been his older brother Zheng who would have entered the Murim but I found out my error during the last war that I didn't train my children as I should have which led to the death of my oldest son, Fang," says Yun which made the room go quiet since Guan Xing and Guan Feng were reminded by their father to not talk about their uncles in front of Yun.

They knew that it was their uncle, Zhang Fei, who killed Zhao Fang and that he paid with the loss of his arm which was severed by Yun's Qi making him escape with his life by chance.

"I have a question, do you allow me to ask?" asks Guan Feng speaking for the first time.

"Ask away," says Yun wanting to hear that question.

"What will you do after killing my uncles? Will you kill their whole family to take revenge or will you spare them?" asks Guan Feng a bit nervous while her older brother was now sweating bullets after hearing her question.

"Hmm," is the only thing they hear from Yun for a moment as Guan Feng thinks she made a mistake wanting to say something when she hears, "If I was after their families I would have killed Liu Bei's successor when he was in my custody, don't you think so?"

"So you won't harm their families?" asks Guan Feng surprised when she sees Yun nod.

"Why should I if they haven't done to me anything yet? Their father's sins are not their own but if they attack me they shouldn't expect any mercy from me either," says Yun telling Guan Feng what he was thinking about.

"So they would be safe as long as they don't offend you," says Guan Feng as Yun nods making her sigh in relief.

"Most likely since my eyes are set on Cao Cao and our daughter's wedding at the moment. Yang could survive on his own without much trouble in this world even without my support," says Yun when he turns to the door and says, "Aren't I right, Yang?"

The siblings were confused when Yang moved the door to the side revealing his presence as he entered the room. They could see that Yang was bigger than Yun by some inches as Yang was sitting right beside Yun.

Yang was in different clothes but was still wearing his gauntlets over his underarms which stopped at his elbows. He looked at Guan Xing and Guan Feng examining them and assessing how strong they could be when he felt disappointed.

The siblings could feel the disappointment coming from Yang as they thought that Yang was thinking that Feng wasn't a beauty in his eyes.

She wasn't as beautiful as Zhen Luo but she had other assets which made Guan Xing feel angry when Yun says, "You shouldn't misinterpret my son's disappointment. He was assessing your strength by looking at both of you."

"Assessing our strength?" asks Guan Xing as Yang looks at him again not showing any emotions.

"Yes, I do that from time to time since I don't like wasting time against weak opponents," says Yang sounding arrogant to Guan Xing while Guan Feng doesn't hear arrogance but indifference as if he didn't care.

"That seems sad in my eyes," says Guan Feng feeling that Yang wasn't living his life to the fullest.

"I like you already," says Zhen Luo as it seemed that Guan Feng could see through Yang.

"Why do you think it is sad?" asks Yang at the same time confused with Guan Feng's words.

"You seem to judge people only on strength instead of who they are," says Guan Feng which made Yun burst out laughing as well as Zhen Luo who began to hold a hand before her mouth while giggling thinking that Guan Feng was right.

"Not all at least but you are almost point on," says Yun after getting the laughter out of his system.

"He can be caring when he needs to be," says Zhen Luo defending Yang a bit.

"But he assesses people quickly without giving it much thought of how the other person could interpret him. You should see him when he is with his sisters, nephew, and niece. He is like a changed man," says Zhen Luo pointing out that Yang isn't like that with familiar people.

"He is just like this the first time he meets you. Once you spend some time with him he will open up to you making it obvious that he isn't indifferent or arrogance talking out of him but flat confidence in himself," says Yun knowing his son good enough not like Zhen Luo who knew him best but good enough to see through him.

"So stay and enjoy your time here," says Zhen Luo cheerful when three small girls came rushing into the room.

They ran straight for Yun and Yang as one of the girls sat right on Yun's lap while the other two were playing with Yang as they hung on Yang's shoulders.

It was Lin who was sitting on Yun's lap while Ai and Min were hanging from Yang's shoulders as they looked at their guests when Yun picked Lin up and placed her on his shoulders when Rin entered the room chasing them with Huixiu and Fang.

"There they are," says Rin as a group of Tigers follow her as well into the room which scares Guan Xing and Guan Feng.

"Are those-," says Guan Xing nervous as his sister finishes his sentence, "Tigers?"

"Your father never mentioned that I keep Tigers? I am quite famous for keeping Tigers even if the population has decreased with us only keeping twenty Tigers at the moment," says Yun surprised that the siblings don't know that he keeps Tigers.

"Father mentioned it briefly but we thought they weren't in the mansion," says Guan Xing nervous as a tiger slowly approaches him slowly.

"Don't move," says Yun seriously as Guan Xing sits still almost stiff as the tiger looks him in the eyes before licking him.

Guan Xing felt like little needles were ripping his skin from his face when he hears Rin whistle and the tiger returned to her side and Yun says, "Let me introduce my daughter, Zhao Rin. The only person, beside me, to be able to tame my horse, Thunder."

"I heard legends that your horse killed a person who tried to handle it in the past," says Guan Xing hearing those rumors when he notices that Ai and Min jumped on a tiger's back riding the ferocious beast as if it was a normal housecat.

"Lin," says Huixiu to the girl sitting on Yun's shoulders.

"No, I want to stay with Grandpa," says Lin not wanting to part with Yun who removed her from his shoulder.

"Listen to your mother. We can play later," says Yun with a genuine smile on his face.

Lin nods holding her hand out to Yun showing her pinky when Yun stretches his pinky out and they pinky swear to play later. Lin then left with Huixiu and the others when Yun noticed Fang looking at him.

"Fang," says Yun calling him over.

"Yes, grandfather?" asks Fang nervous as Yun looks at the boy.

"We will begin your training beginning next winter. You as the next head will learn a similar art to Yang. I hope you will be able to go through all that training to honor the memory of your father, grandfather, and great-grandfather," says Yun seriously as he would train Fang the same way as Yang not going to spoil him.

"I understand," says Fang sounding more mature than he really is when Yun rubs his head with his big hand.

"Good, now go with your mother and help her look after your sister," says Yun smiling again.

Then he stood up and he says, "I will now return to my work. Yang, take care of our guests in my absence."

"I will do my best," says Yang seriously as Yun leaves the room to get to his office and begin to go through some important reports.

Hope you like it.
