The Feeling Of Defeat

As the white encompassed Ukitake and the others, his Zanpakuto finally shattered. As the blade crumbled, he could only take the attack head-on with his body as his only shield. "Ukitake!" Screaming out to Ukitake, who was standing there dumbfounded, Shunsui put up his last struggle in the clutches of the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva. Due still needing the captains alive, Shen didn't put too much force into the blast, but its destructive power even did a number on the area under Shen.

As the Zero Hand hit the ground, it shattered and covered the floor like a blanket melting everything in its path, causing a gush of hot air to explode outwards. As this combination of wind and light flashed over the floor of the Seireitei, it was only until Shen received notifications did he finally cut off power to the Zero Hand.

[Level Up!]

As the flow of energy stopped, and the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva closed its mouth, the ground of the Seireitei became visible once again. The land was entirely melted to the point it looked as if it was the top of a volcano as Shen could have sworn he saw running magma among the heated rubble. Letting go of the two captains in the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva 's grasp along with Ukitake, it seemed they would fall onto the molten rock, but Shen moved swiftly.

Hitting all three of them mid-air, he wasn't gentle when it came to saving their lives, smacking them behind him, causing them all to fly into the ground that was not affected by the Zero Hand. "Now, onto more pressing matters." Shen was not worried about the captain's escaping, after all, they were way too injured even if they managed to wake up to do anything to him, let alone flee without his notice.

Turning his gaze to Sokyoku, Hill Shen didn't hesitate as he flew over, and as expected, the Head Captain Yamamoto Genryusai was waiting there for him. Landing on the hill entirely made of stone, Shen looked unnerved as he faced Yamamoto. "You know I was surprised even as I destroyed your subordinates. You didn't interfere. That's pretty cold, especially for the man with the strongest fire type Zanpakuto."

Lowering his gaze slightly, Shen thought to himself. 'I leveled up so I should have recovered some of the energy I wasted dealing with the captains. Now all I have to do is find out what this old man is up to and why he has been so calm.'

He was standing their motionlessly as he kept both of his hands placed on his cane until speaking. "Hehe. I see, so you indeed do seem to know of the abilities of our Zanpakuto. But you are still young and foolish."

Hearing Yamamoto's words, Shen couldn't help but have a flash of annoyance as he kept a light smile on his face. "Lost?" 'Sure, I might have triggered a few flags, but I think you are underestimating me.' Shen knew he had done a few things that would signify a villain's death or defeat, but he was somewhat confident in his ability to survive more than anything. He had set up dozens of marks in the human world for worst-case scenarios.

"You have lost in two ways today. But judging from your confusion allows me to enlighten you." Taking a handoff his cane, Yamamoto's face grew darker as he spoke. "The first was underestimating the Gotei 13." As he spoke, Shen could feel a surge of heat radiated from the ground. "Underestimated the Gotei 13? I already defeated your captains, although I don't know where Retsu and Mayuri ran off too."

As Shen spoke, he could hear a laugh resonating from Yamamoto, which caused him to become alert. "And why are you laughing?" As Yamamoto flashed a grin as he spoke. "Defeated? Maybe you should check again?" That alone caused Shen to swing his head around as he activated his Sharingan, allowing him to view the captains from where he stood.

"What are they doing?" Looking at them, Shen was surprised to see the captains who were originally unmobile or even unconscious began to move, and they grabbed their Zanpakuto, reverting them all back to their Shikai form. Holding their Zanpakuto, all the captains, even Kenpachi, all began to focus their attention on their Zanpakuto as the next thing Shen saw shocked him even more.

Watching Shen Yamamoto continued. "You see, while you fought Mayuri, we came up with a contingency plan. We had long figured you could draw power from a Zanpakuto, which is why we did this. If the captains were to lose in the battle against you, they shall shatter their Zanpakuto and keep them shattered… Indefinitely." With those words, Shen witnessed as every captain's Zanpakuto broke cracking into pieces as they fell apart.

"Indeed, your powers are great, and with the knowledge of our Zanpakuto, you could have succeeded. But sadly, your inexperience and young age have doomed you to fail." Stuck in shock, this was the very first time Shen had truly been outsmarted in this universe. Turning his head back slowly with a strange expression on his face Yamamoto spoke to him again.

"I see we finally got rid of that grin on your face. Now allow me to tell you the second way you lost." Holding his cane in front of his body, Yamamoto's Reiatsu began to build as the wood surface Yammamoto's cane was ripped away, revealing his Zanpakuto underneath. "You underestimated me, boy." Releasing his Zanpakuto, A burning blade could be seen quickly being unsheathed as Yamamoto raised Ryujin Jakka to the sky.

In that instance, the heat radiating from the hill reached its peak as flames burst out of the sides of Sokyoku Hill itself. Rising as walls as fire before Shen knew it, the entire hillside was encompassed in a sphere of flames blocking him and Yamamoto from the outside world. As this action was done, Shen looked at the walls of fire as he lowered his head and said to himself. "So that's the plot twist, huh?"

Chuckling to himself for a moment, that chuckle turned into a laugh as Yamamoto stared at Shen in this moment of insanity. "Ahahaha! I admit I wasn't expecting this at all. I truly did underestimate the Gotei 13. However…" Raising his right arm, Shen opened his hands as the atmosphere within the Soul Society changed a feeling everyone remembered from the moment Shen broke through the gates of the Seireitei.

Forming in his right hand, the power being generated was evident as Shen gripped the handle of his Halberd. Raising his head to look Yamamoto in the eye, this might have been the first time anyone witnessed the process of Shen's eyes transforming into the Mangekyou with a sense of clarity.

"Since it's like that, then I guess I have no choice. When I am finished dealing with you, Ill capture the captains and bring them back to the human world. Ill torture each one of them with their own personal hell over and over until they break."

Taking a pause, Shen coated the Halberd in Haki, turning the entire thing a dark black with a crimson glow. "And beg for their Zanpakutos to return."

For the second time in the series we show Shen show anger. How will this epic battle between Shen and Yamamoto end and who will win? It's weird how this fight only started at the end of the week right?

Well, I'll see you guys next Monday hope you enjoyed. And if you have any questions that have been on your mind don't hesitate to post them here or in the Ask Shen And Author Auxiliary chapter.
