'Where were you?' I asked Mia as she approached towards us. I was sitting at the patio on the hotel's rooftop. Soo-Yon hyung was busy shooting his part in front of the hotel's entrance while my one was scheduled within an hour. Mina noona was adding some powder to my face.
'I just headed to the restaurant downstairs to grab a cup of coffee,' she replied nervously.
'On your own?' I inquired.
'I ran into a friend.'
'Friend?' I frowned. 'Who?'
'Why does it matter to you?' Mina noona asked sharply, not taking her eyes off my face. 'She has a life outside of work too, you know?'
'I was just curious,' I said defensively. 'Mia is new here. What if she runs into some playboy who'll hurt her?'
'You mean like yourself?' Mina noona teased as she pressed the puff on my face. Mia giggled.
'Stop it you two,' Mia laughed. 'Cheng, what's your room number?'
'Why you'll sleepover tonight?' I smirked.
Mia hit my arm. 'Pervert,' she said in a disgusted tone.
'Ow! That hurts!' I protested, rubbing my arm.
'Have some shame, would ya?' Mina noona scolded. 'Here, I'm done with your makeup.'
She set down the powder puff and held a mirror for me to look into. Mia checked her watch.
'I should head downstairs,' she said urgently. 'Soo-Yon sshi's shoot will be over soon.'
Mia picked up her bag from the table and was walking towards the door when I called out to her.
'Wait, where are my clothes?'
'They're at your room,' she replied. 'The manager already checked you in. It's room number 518. He's there already so all you gotta do is knock.'
'Alright,' I waved at her. She hurried out.
I stretched my arms. 'Noona, I think I'll go to my room,' I yawned.
'Very tired huh?' Mina noona asked me sympathetically.
'I've been up all night,' I complained. 'It's exhausting. Can't wait for this MV shooting to be over.'
I bid her goodbye and shuffled my way to the fifth floor.
'580...' I muttered as I scanned the room numbers. '580... ah there it is!'
The room was at the very end of the corridor. I knocked on the door.
'Ahn Manager!' I called as I knocked on the door. 'You in there? Open up it's me!'
I knocked a few more times. Strange, I thought. Maybe he was not in there?
I was about to turn when I heard the door lock click. Someone was opening it. 'About time,' I said irritably. 'What took you so long to op-'
I froze midway. Standing in front of me was the person I hoped I would never run into again.
