Something is weird...

Alex turned back at the mansion, and after explaining things to his party, he went to eat something before sleeping.

The justice system in this world was very simple. The prosecutor, in this case Sena, would collect evidence, and the accused, Alex, would be defended by a representative, his party and his friends.

There were no lawyers, and if the judge concluded the charges to be true, he would pass judgement. Alex and his representatives stood in the center of the court. The judge, prosecutor and plaintiff sat opposite of them some distance away.

Alex was a bit scared, not because of what the judge might decide, but because the majority of the representative turned out to be most idiotic people he knew…

Megumin: Leave it to me, the Crimson Demons have high intelligence; I'll make that prosecutor cry through our debate.

Alex: ...No, I'm more afraid that the court will stop existing…

Darkness: Don't worry; if events develop beyond the point of redemption, I'll think of a way to help you. You're not at fault for this incident at all, and you are in the prosecutor's good side.

Judge: Order in the court! We will now begin the trial for Alexander Carter for subversion of the nation! The plaintiff is Alexei Barnes Alderp!

On the cue of the judge, a fat man stood up. He has long blonde hair and a blonde mustache. And was wearing red and blue clothes with golden stripes, and white gloves.

The Landlord Alderp glared at Alex, then he looked with lecherous eyes his party… Classic anime scene… However, after looking at every inch of Aqua's and Megumin's body, he turned his sight on Darkness and stood stiffly, with a look of surprise, as if he recognized her…

Judge: Prosecutor, step forth! We have a magic item here, so any lie will be exposed in this court. Remember this when you speak.

Sena stood up and read her documents.

Sena: I'll now read out the charges… The accused, Alexander Carter, took part with other adventurers in the battle against the Mobile Fortress Destroyer when it attacked. He gave the order during the battle to send the Coronatite, which was going to explode, away via random teleportation. 

The Coronatite that was teleported exploded after appearing in the mansion of the plaintiff. The mansion of the plaintiff, Alderp, disappeared. Right now, Lord Alderp is forced to live in an inn within this town.

When transporting monsters, drugs, and dangerous items such as explosives, the use of random teleportation is prohibited. It's stated clearly in the law, and the instructions given out by the accused clearly contravene this law.

However, the accused also said that there wasn't any other choice, and I can also confirm that during the fight with the Destroyer, there wasn't any other methods. The alternative options were: Leaving it explode, sending it to the capital or sending it to the world-wide famous dungeon.

Hence, the prosecutor requests for the accused to be found not guilty, at the condition that he pays back for the damage he accidentally caused.

Judge: Next, I grant permission for the plaintiff to speak. You may plead your case!

Alderp: I heard that the accused is able to summon control demonic weapons, which should be the property of the Demon King's army, I want to know how this DOESN'T mean your alliance with the Demon King!

Judge: Prosecutor.

Sena: Yes. The accused Alexander Carter is a 19 years old "Human", working as an adventurer, with the job of the "Void Highlord". We don't have much informations about this class, as it is the first time it is heard about its existence in our nation.

But we could guess about some aspects of it, the word "Highlord" in the name suggests a high standing amongst his peers or noble lineage. We have confirmed that it isn't the latter, so we can say that a Void Highlord is a top-tier job, almost certainly a special job.

The people present gasped upon hearing this, Alex went to Darkness and whispered.

Alex: What is a special job?

Darkness: A special job is a type of job that requires certain conditions to achieve it, like Demon General, which is self-explanatory, or Dragon Slayer and Dragon Knight.

Judge: Hmm… Continue.

Sena: The accused also mentioned "a local Elite" for describing the job, which, according to the magic item, was true. Leading to a possibility that Alexander may be considered a noble or an important person from the place he comes from, which is "America".

Controlling demonic swords might be the norm there, we don't know and probably never know it. However, Alexander explicitly explained that he was ordered to come in our nation to kill the Demon King, and also want him dead.

The prosecutor will provide the judge the evidence for the accused's innocence.

Judge: Consented.

With the affirmation of the judge, the knights brought some people into the court, they were mostly adventurers, and the first one was Chris.

Chris: Ahahaha…. I was summoned…

Sena: Adventurer Chris, explain your connection with the accused and your opinion on him.

Chris: Well, at first I hated him a bit because I am against anything connected to demons, like Alex's class, mentioned before, that could summon demonic weapons. However, when we were in a pinch due to a weird situation, he saved me many times and also helped me escape from that pinch.

Sena: Please explain what is this "Weird situation" to the court.

Chris: Yes…

Then she started to speak about Keele's Dungeon, and about the teleportation to Grimskull's Dungeon, the monsters that were present, from the Grim Fighters to the angler monsters and Binky, she also mentioned Raxgore, which caused some discussions about its existence.

However, she let out the actions of Alex about taking away Binky's horn, which would cause some suspicions as how the horn is right now, like "Who made the weapon" or something like that.

Sena: Which means, the accused saved you multiple times and killed a creature described as "Evil Incarnate", the Magical Man Eating Unicorn Binky, that could cause a great problem to everyone if it was let out free. Is this true?

Chris: Yes, and I am still grateful about his help now.

Sena: Thank you for your testimony.

The next witnesses were a bit troublesome…

It was the one who came from Japan, and his party of 2 girls, who still held a grudge towards Alex due to his actions during the first meeting between their leader Kyouka and him.

Sena: Mitsurugi. I heard your magic sword was broken from the accuser because you two made a bet and he won the sword. And the two ladies were threatened by the accused with a demonic blade because they were leaving without giving the reward from the bet to the accuser. Is this true?

Mitsurugi: Yes, you are right. But even though I paid a bit, I got a sword that is much sharper and durable from him.

Then he unsheathed the Oblivion Blade of Nulgath, that seemed a bit dead in his hands compared to Alex's floating swords.

Sena: I see, you can go.

The next one was… Dust?

Sena: This man is the defendant of the next court case. I think the court should be familiar with him. He's a delinquent that causes trouble and keeps getting sued.

Dust: hey, you jerk, you're the one who asked for me when I was just waiting for my turn in court. I just got here, so stop speaking ill about me! Are you asking me to massage those big tits of yours?

Alex facepalmed and said.

Alex: I don't know this man…

Alex: With that behavior everyone would like to send explosives to your land! And I'm not a minion of the Demon King's army! Look at the magic item! Did it ring? No.

The judge shook his head slowly.

Judge: The circumstantial evidence presented so far is enough. And so, I hereby find the accused, Alexander Carter, not guilty, for the lack of evidences against hi-

During this decisive moment, the landlord spoke.

Alderp: I'll say this again. That guy's affiliated with the Demon King's army, he's one of their minions, Sentence him to death.

Sena: No… No one was hurt for this incident. It should not lead to the death penalty even if he was guilty…

When she said that to the landlord, he just stared at her.

Sena: ...No, you're right. The death sentence is the most appropriate… Right?

...Wait what?

Megumin: Hey, hey, wait a minute! This is too weird, too weird!

Alex: What was that just now?! Why did the situation turned 180° without reason?!

However, Sena's face looked confused as she tilted her head, while Aqua suddenly pointed at the judge, Sena, and the landlord.

Aqua: I feel an evil presence! Someone among this group is attempting to twist the facts with evil powers!

Since the bell didn't ring, and Aqua was an Archpriest, the Judge asked.

Judge: Powers of evil… So, you're saying someone is using underhanded means to influence this sacred trial?

Aqua: Yes, that's correct. My eyes are more accurate than that magic item! Truthfully speaking, I'm a goddess of water with 10 million devotees in this world! Goddess Aqua!

*Ring*

Aqua: Why! Wait, I didn't lie!

Judge: Defendant, please choose your counsels carefully.

Alex just sighed and shook his head while Aqua murmured.

Aqua: My apologies, I'll reflect on this seriously.
