The Mayo Clinic

Two weeks had gone by and nobody had any idea what was going on with Ivy so they ended up transferring her to the Mayo Clinic after all. Ethan stayed behind to go to school and his father had to get into the habit of leaving work early to be there when school ended so Kendra could be with Ivy.

David Chamberlain was every bit as worried as his wife was but since she was a stay-at-home mom and didn't hold a job it made more sense for her to go to Arizona alone. The doctors there were hopeful that they would be able to find a medication that could calm down Ivy's frenzied auditory cortex.

In all her time being unconscious they scanned her every day and found no real changes to the overstimulation. It truly was as if a jackhammer was constantly going inside her head.

They finally woke Ivy up to test a medication on her. They tried it for three days but she kept screaming so much that they ended up putting her back under while they figured something else out.
