Ivy still ended up missing her bus. With a dramatic sigh she sat on a bench and was about to whip out her phone to contact her mom when someone snuck up in front of her. There was only one person who could do that.
"I saw what you did for that girl," Adrian said. "That was really cool of you."
She flushed at the unexpected praise. She didn't think anyone had seen that. "Maybe so, but it also made me miss my bus. My mom is going to kill me."
He held out his hand to her. "I can take you home and save her the trouble."
Ivy bit her lip. There really wasn't a reason to turn down his offer. Hadn't she been thinking about setting up a time to meet with him earlier? But it would be awkward being stuck in a car with someone she couldn't hear.
Screw it. This was probably her best chance to see him with minimal interference.
"Sure! Thanks, Adrian."
"No problem. Just paying your good deed forward," he replied with a wink.
