My Mistress was put on a stretcher, but a voice before the Healers could check on her well-being:
"Stop!" The Duke's voice resounded like the laws of the universe itself for us. We were not merely servants, we were all 'swords'. Our hearts were conditioned to act coldly upon hearing his words.
Of course, that didn't mean Sword Servants were emotionless. Especially those unlike myself, who had become 'Human' from an ACTUAL sword. They were unable to reach the level of acting as 'tools'.
They stood silently while gazing at the Duke in order to hear his next orders, but what they wanted to hear wasn't spoken. Instead, the Duke looked at my Mistress with eyes glowing with azure light.
[Main Skill- Lifeblood Homing]
I'm not sure if he was seeing the same thing as I was, but he definitely noticed something. Seeing that I didn't need to elaborate, I kept my silence so that the Duke could make a decision by himself.
He walked over to his daughter and looked at her closely. From what others told me, this was probably what they call a 'father-daughter reunion moment'. Though she had yet to regain her consciousness as the Duke held her in his arms.
For once, there seemed to be a hint of emotion in his eyes outside of his high expectation of his daughter. I'm sure my Mistress would be happy to see how he'd treat her from now on if she woke up.
"Do not interfere with what will happen next...!" A look of confusion appeared on their faces as white blade more refined than any Astral Sword I've seen before appeared in his hand. The confusion on their faces became stronger after it manifested.
What was that sword? Although it didn't give off the feeling of pressure like my sword did, my innate instincts allowed me to feel a terrifying sharpness within it that surpassed my my 'Sharpened Aura'.
It was the first time I've felt my previous life's existence as a sword for naught. Why was so proud of being lingering intentions of the Divine Swords of the past? A foreign sense of inferiority appeared in my heart as soon as the sword was manifested.
Why is there a 'Divine Sword' here?! No, this can't be a Divine Sword. Only true Apostles of the Gods could be bestowed a 'Divine Sword'...! That's not even mentioning that the Divine Sword created by the Sun God had already turned into Enigma.
Was this a replica? Perhaps... but who in this world was capable of forging a replica of a Divine Sword?
That's not even mentioning that the 'Sun Attribute' of that Astral Sword no longer resembled that of the Sun God anymore. There was now a razor-like feeling on that blade which overwhelmed my own Sharpened Aura as it was a war blade being compared to a kitchen knife. The majesty of that sword made me feel... a little bit embarrassed~
Is this the feeling of meeting someone undeniably handsome? It must me it... The simple but exquisite design of that sword was so mesmerising~ I want it SOOO bad...! This was a different feeling I got from seeing 'warriors' as it made me feel possessive of it. Perhaps my past life as a sword allowed me to appreciate another magical blade of the same rank.
Getting back to reality, the Duke's eyes were cold as he placed that 'Sharpened Sword' near my Mistress's neck. A lot of alarms started going off within my heart as I realised she might be killed!
Didn't the Duke like Sapphire? I don't want to see my Mistress 'taken care of' like an enemy.
"Show yourself and state your purpose for possessing my daughter..." The Duke's eyes were cold as he held the sword beside her neck. Just one movement of that ridiculously sharp blade alone would be enough to swipe off her head.
The strange entity that had parasitically attached itself to my Mistress reacted to his actions.
Everyone was shocked when the untainted pale skin of our Mistress started to be covered in tattoos as magical power released. If it wasn't for my 'eTruth-Seeking God-Eyes' I'd attained through my Aura Sharpening's 5th Stage, I wouldn't have been able to sense the weakness behind that might. That parasite had an injured soul!
The Mistress's eyes opened to show pitch black eyeballs covered in darkness as she laughed:
"Hehehe~ The Swordwick Duke really loves his daughter, doesn't he?" The Duke frowned at this.
"Vermin, release my daughter or die." The Duke's tone hadn't changed as he displayed intent to kill.
His heart didn't waver in the face of overwhelming odds. Not even this sinister entity affected him.
"I can't do that. Why don't you try killing me and see if that will release her?" The sinister entity that was controlling my Mistress's body cackled as it pushed the House Master away from it.
The Duke didn't let the Mistress's hand touch him as her body seemed to contaminate the floor. Even though the sinister entity seemed completely fine after possessing our Mistress, it was almost like the laws of this world rejected its existence.
My God-Eyes could only see it as an heretical existence that I unconsciously felt like killing. It was almost as if the world denied this being. Was it due to the entity escaping the Timeless Zone's void?
Heh~ It was ironic that I, Void, was able to finally meet this 'heretic', which seemed a bit familiar.
I wonder why I felt like that?
Anyway, the sinister entity didn't seem willing to leave the body of our 'Young Miss' as it forcibly interfered with the world by wasting oceans of magical power. It was as if the uneven price it needed to pay to use magic was negligible.
"Who are you and why possess my daughter?" It seemed like the Duke wanted to hear the answer to the latter part of the question than the former, is that why the entity started to 'introduce itself'...?
"I have no name to give anymore. No Identity, and a damaged 'Self'. Might as we call me... 'Nameless'!"
I'm not sure what it meant but the battle intent that arose off it's body after those words was as big as it's Aura as darkness spread out into a 'Domain'. It started off as vague shadow on the ground before dyeing even the air before spreading towards us.
Perhaps if we were 'normal', most of us would have already been swallowed by that entity that sinister entity. However, the Aura Density of the Swordwick Household's Swords Servants shouldn't be underestimated. We were like boats in an ocean as the darkness threatened to swallow our spirits whole, but this wouldn't be able to last long...!
No matter how dense our Auras, we couldn't stay in this position for long or else our 'lifeboats' will start to crack. Some of those weaker people here already started shown signs of being suppressed.
Cracks started to form on the Aura around them...
Even as everyone here sas being attacked, a handful of Sword Servants spoke in resistance:
"Young Miss, please snap out of it!"
"It's us...?! Don't you remember us?"
"Release our Young Miss!" (This particular voice was of the former Personal Butler candidate.)
"Don't you want to meet Simon again." (It looks like her eyebrow twitched as Harmony's current life's mother said that. Though the secret members of my Mistress's fan club didn't agree with her.)
"Please get ahold of yourself. Anna won't be able to hold on!" (Harmony's 'Uncle' also spoke up.)
When I turned my head. Harmony's father, uncle, and even members who didn't seem close to that woman before combined their Aura to create a bigger 'dome' that could resist this darkness.
Though this time the Young Miss didn't seem moved as she emotionlessly continued to pressure everyone. The Sword Servants couldn't bring themselves to cause harm to my Mistress's body.
It seemed only I had chose to abide by the Duke's words and not interfere. How hopeless were they?
It was pathetic for 'Swords' to be emotional... Quite unprofessional of them if I do say so myself.
Even though someone who embodied a sword from a physical point of view like me was resistant to her darkness and my Sharpened Aura could definitely hack itself into her flesh, I didn't do anything.
There was no need to do so.
My eyes turned to look at the Duke, who held that HANDSOME SWORD- Ahem, who held that his brilliant sword without looking nervous. I wonder what was going through his head at this moment?
The daughter he had spent most of the Treasured Swords in his collection on to save now came back with a parasite on her body. Would he deem her as a failure and kill her? Why was his eyes so sharp?
"Let go of my daughter, and I will spare your life."
"You're not that kind of person." The sinister entity which called itself 'Nameless' responded blandly.
"...Do we know each other?" This kind of response took the Duke off guard as he lifted an eyebrow.
"You may not know me, but I know you even better than yourself. Especially how you see your own daughter as a tool... Hmph, you do not even deserve calling yourself her father." The sinister entity taunted the Duke, but to no avail.
"If that's what you think, then must really be a nosy vermin." He didn't agree nor disagree with him.
"So you believe yourself to be safe just because you've captured my daughter?" The sapphire Aura thinly covering the Duke's body shivered as a frosty smile curved onto his lips. That entity called Nameless seemed confused about the Duke's reaction as it made a serious expression. It was as if the Duke suddenly became harder to read.
"I should have devoured your 'Self'-!"
"Enough nonsense." The blandly Duke interrupted that 'Nameless' entity before pointing at him.
[Sword Formation- Piercing Drizzle!]
The 120 Astral Swords of the Lightwater Attribute manifested outwardly before stabbing into the Mistress's body. Everyone, myself included, felt our jaws drop as blood stained the floor beneath us.
The Water Swords morphed into raindrops before piercing into my Mistress's body, her eyes were wide open in pain of his Astral Swords worming their way into her flesh must've been excruciating.
The binding aspect that came after the raindrops had changed their form underneath her skin was worthy of the Water Attribute's dexterous nature considering the circumstances. I could even see that they focused purely around her joints.
Ruthless. That was the only word that could describe the House Master. He didn't even seem to have mercy towards his daughter whatsoever as he swiped the brilliantly handsome sword before him.
I was expecting her body to be bisected by his swordsmanship. After all, I'm assuming that it shouldn't be wrong for him slay his daughter in these circumstances. My heart pained to lose a new friend, but it wasn't like she was a higher priority than the Duke's words. That was what I was thinking until my God-Eyes saw his next actions.
Instead of cutting her body, his brilliantly handsome sword seemed to cut the 'domain' that sounded us on a conceptual level. It visually seemed like that 'Nameless' entity cancelled that darkness magic that was trying to massacre us.
To cut something on a conceptual level was supposed to be my thing! Anyway, could cutting concepts actually do this...?! I've always had a different interpretation to what 'cutting concepts' meant compared what I was seeing before me...
The Sword Servants around us finally took a breath out of fatigue as the Duke used both hands to cut before him with the momentum of his entire body fluidly after the first upwards swipe. This time it was as if the air in front of him was cut in half...!
Could he be trying to cut her with air pressure?
That's what I figured. However, I was wrong once again as nothing seemed to happen. Why was Sapphire uninjured? A slash of such might using a blade that surpassed Divine Swords shouldn't do nothing after descending dish with such power...!
Even my Truth-Seeking God-Eyes were useless as I didn't know what he cut until his third action. His Light Clad hand reached out towards my Mistress despite the distance that had opened between them. I was unaware until I saw it that...
...The 'distance' that was supposed to be between them had been cut by his sword. It was a strange experience watching his hand impossibly stretch the distance and grab my Mistress's head before slamming her the ground underneath him.
Ignoring how he somehow was able to 'cut out the distance' between them with one slash, how could he so mercilessly handle his daughter like this?! Is he a 'loving father' or not??? I'm starting to doubt what my Teacher said was 'normal' about now...
Trying to comprehend 'normality' is a headache.
It had only been less than two seconds since the Duke initiated his first action and it took less that 0.5 seconds to complete the fourth and final action before he stopped his assault. His handsome sword stabbed towards her heart menacingly.
[Composite Skill- Life Taking Sword Seal]
Rather than stabbing into her flesh, the enormous amount of Mana radiating off her was 'cut off' after it had morphed into a stream of energy that entered her body. It was only then did he call over the Healers to heal the damage he had done with his Water Swords initially. The Sword Servants were silent as he finally gave them another order:
"Call back Simon and invite Holy Healers." He spoke before staying close with his daughter.
His back looking somewhat like a proper father...
