In a society where punishment for women is humiliation, a former knight has changed from a soldier of the king to a protector of those harmed women. Samuel is that knight, he owns a manor that is only has women except for him, he makes sure they are safe and have what they need. He allows them to learn to speak well, to read and write, to cook, to sew, to garden, to teach, he allows them learn what freedom was.
"Don't lay a hand on her," The crowd along with the man on the stage near the defenseless woman turned and saw a man, metal gauntlet resting on an elegant hilt. He wore quality clothes and had several shorter blades on his belt after his long blade. A golden amulet hung around his neck, with a golden eagle that was decorated with precious stones, "I will take her," The man smirked and returned to removing his belt. The common crowd began moving to the side as he passed, slowly walking towards the stage where the humiliation punishment was taking place. The man began nearing the girl more, "If you lay a hand on her, I will cut your hands off, and then make sure that you have nothing left between your legs."
"Ha, as if a posh man would do something like that, you wouldn't want to get your hands dirt," The man replied as the knight stepped onto the stage.
"Now that you have decided that, you really had two options, to take my word as the truth, or to assume I was bluffing you, and clearly that was your choice," He spoke calmly, not letting anger or spite fill his words, "But before you do anything, you should have probably taken a better look at me," The man turned to face him, "You noticed I was posh, I wouldn't say that, but wealthy, probably, but you assumed I wouldn't get my hands dirty, meaning you missed my amulet."
"That is a fake, you are no knight."
"I am High Knight Samuel, Olteober High Guard as well, along with being a former mercenary," He spoke moving closer to the girl, "Now, I don't really want to make you a cripple, but I will if you lay a finger on her, since you've been warned, and these people have heard, I can't be judged if I do cripple you, and now, leave, she is mine, your rules allow me too."
"I am going to make sure she pays first."
"No," He put his hand on the man and the crowd fell completely silent, "Unless you really want my threat to go all the way," He pushed in front of him and then drew one of his shorter blades and began cutting the ropes that restrained her. He quickly turned and held his blade to the man's throat as he lifted his arm to strike him, he froze as the cold steel touched the soft skin of his throat, "I can kill you too, if you don't want to be crippled, leave," He repeated himself, still in a calm tone, "And put your belt back on," The man lowered his arm and then pulled his belt back on, before slowly walking backwards, "Good, now," He turned back to the girl and removed all of her restraints and picked up her clothes that were next to her stand, "Put them on," She looked up at him terrified. He knelt down next to her, "Don't be fearful, my lady, I am here to help you, don't worry, take your clothes and get dressed, they have humiliated you enough," He said as she nodded and grabbed her clothes, "Don't be afraid of me, I am here to help you," He turned back to the crowd and simply looked at them as she got changed, "Despicable," He mumbled.
"S-Sir?" He turned back to the girl, "Wh-What are you g-going to do to me?"
"Help you," He smiled kindly, "Follow me, if you wish," She nodded and began following him off of the stage as the crowd moved aside once more and her eyes fell upon a well dressed lady that stood next to a carriage, "Thank you, Juliet, please, help her on," The lady nodded and helped her up and then Samuel climbed aboard as well as the crowd turned to watch him as the carriage moved away, "I am Sir Samuel, call me Sam."
"Y-Yes, Sam."
"You are?"
"Elena."
"Well, this is Juliet, and our driver is Georgia."
"Only girls?" She said as Juliet smiled at her and nodded, "Why? Shouldn't there be men as well?"
"Sam is the only man in your new home, I was in your position before, he saved me like he has saved the others you will meet," She smiled, "He is a kind man."
"Are you really a knight?"
"A knight and a doctor."
"Oh, so that, that wasn't a lie?" He smiled and chuckled.
"Haven't had many men willing to help you in your life, right?" She shook her head and sighed, "Glad to be part of that short list, I will help you."
"But I am a-" He put his finger over his own mouth and shh-ed her.
"I don't care about your crime, right now, I don't think that humiliation is the way to go," He began explaining, "I never liked it and I think that it is a terrible way of doing justice, I saw real justice given to men, but never to women."
"Oh, thank you, Sam."
"I want to help, nothing else."
