When the patrons heard someone else was fronting the bill, they went about buying luxury items they would never have thought to buy.
The owner didn't think to question the words coming out of the young miss's mouth. He ran around helping the shop's assistants and checking out patrons on the prince's tab.
Ailwin watched as all around him, people thanked him as they left the store with an expensive item after expensive item. He was going to be broke for a while, and it's all because of this little...
Ailwin searched left then right looking for the small devil. Founding only an empty spot and a missing sword. A tap on his shoulder and a point of the finger from Braeden showed him the fleeing small back as Mika left the shop carrying her prize.
In all of his nineteen years, Ailwin never thought there would be someone more quick-thinking than him.
And he didn't like it...
Retracting his stare Ailwin turned to the shop's attendant, "Ring up the rest of my purchases".
"Yes sir.."
Ailwin pulled put his wrist ban.
"Here is the grand total sir..." the shop's attendant pushed his portable screen for Ailwin's inspection.
Braeden peeked over Ailwin's shoulders. Seeing the amount, Braeden lit a candle for Ailwin's bank account.
"You go grab our weapons, and lug them to the shuttle."
"Me?...By myself?... Weren't we going to rent a hover cart?"
"You think I have any more money to spend on a hover cart...Besides, since you didn't help a few minutes ago, you should help now..."
Looking over at the pile of weapons they had purchased, all of the amusement left Braeden face.
He'll have to make several trips.
"I'll wait for you at the shuttle...don't dally."
______
Mika left the shop under Ailwin frustrated gaze. With the sword in hand and a skip in her step, Mika felt on top of the world.
Saavi watching as her miss conned a prince out of his money. Saavi didn't know where her young miss got her shamelessness from. If Lady Lyra ever finds out about this...
Mika had walked a few steps before she realized Saavi wasn't following her.
Obvious to the expressions playing across Saavi face. Mika knew what was making Saavi worried.
"Don't worry...Mother won't know. When will mother ever have the chance to come met the fifth prince...Besides, unlike him, I didn't let my identity be known."
Thinking on this, Saavi realizes the young miss was right. In the two times, the young miss and herself met the fifth prince, they have never told him their identities. The world was big, he wouldn't be able to find them, right?
Feeling more self-assured Saavi still felt she needed to reprimand young miss, for Lady Lyra sake.
"Still you shouldn't go around conning people of their money and items."
"Yes, yes your right. This can't be done so openly next time" Mika walked on at a leisurely pace.
"Let's enjoy ourselves. Let's not let this good day go to waste."
___
It was nightfall before they made it back to the Amara house. As always they quietly traveled from the back gate to Mika's courtyard. After doing this routine multiple times, Mika and Saavi were able to make it to their courtyard in fast time.
Putting away the items for the day, Mika had the maids turned down her bedroom for the night when a scream was heard.
Looking outside to room windows, Mika saw chaos outside. Calling for Saavi to investigate the problem. Saavi came back to reported that an unidentified male entered Miss Sienna's courtyard.
"I don't know the full details yet but they said he escaped and are searching for him as we speak... Miss, what should we do?" Saavi along with some of the other maids waited for instructions.
"Seal the gates and search the courtyard. Make sure everyone is accounted for. Turn the night lights on high and stay out of the guards' way. Other than that no one is to leave unaccompanied. Understood?"
"Yes."
Mika didn't think anything of the commotion. It didn't happen in her courtyard, so she was going to follow her mother's words and stay out of it. Leave Lady Jaelah and Lady Delju courtyards to their battles. She knew it's been too quiet for them lately.
Just when Mika settles down to eat her dinner. A maid rushed in, to report that Lady Jaelah was waiting outside. Mika was just as confused as the maid was. The other courtyards usually didn't seek her for her company. This was probably the first time Lady Jaelah has ever visited her courtyard.
Mika felt unease. Her sixth sense was telling her to run.
Mika's past life replayed in her mind. After being betrayed multiple times and dying, Mika has learned to be wary.
Saavi saw the tension in the young miss body.
"Miss, we can't let Lady Jaelah stand out there." Saavi, she saw no other option than to let Lady Jaelah in.
Saavi's words bought Mika back to the present.
"If you are caught in a problem where you don't know what the problem is. You must first find out all the information you can, only then can you try to save yourself from hidden dangers." Lady Lyra teachings helped Mika to regain her calmness.
"Let them in."
