Davis smiled, but it was a furious one instead of one of amusement.

His anger was almost at the peak, emerging from the fact that he let one of his foes get away, which was never in his book but considering that he could do nothing against Rai Zenflame, whose prowess reached the Immortal Emperor Stage in the first place, he calmed his ego from sparking up and using Fallen Heaven to kill him.

He knew that if he used Fallen Heaven on Rai Zenflame, then he would face consequences worse than just letting him have escaped.

"I… I apologize."

Tanya approached him, her voice sounding off.

"What are you saying?" Davis cast a glance at her, "Killing a cultivator at the Immortal Emperor realm was beyond us in the first place. Having him taste hell was fun. Next time, we'll make him taste shit."

He winked, causing Tanya's eyes to dart around in relief before she finally nodded at him, although she inwardly swore not to make the same mistake again.
