Bad Timing

I freeze but recognize the feminine voice. "Lilith.. I thought you were coming next week?" I look down and see Syn's look of embarrassment and I grind my teeth in annoyance. Lilith really did have bad timing. "I didn't think coming sooner would be a problem." Lilith say with a smile. Syn dips under my arm and quickly bows to Lilith in greeting before quickly running out of the room. With her speed you'd think the damn room was on fire.

I stare at the closed door trying to calm down and say in a low voice "Wait for me in my office Lilith.. I'll be there in a moment." I don't even look at her before walking to the bathroom and slamming the door. So damn close.. if it weren't for Lilith... I groan thinking of Syn again. She tasted so damn good I want more. I struggle to control myself but every time I close my eyes I see her.. eyes filled with desire.. desire for me. Her swollen lips from kissing and her soft body against my hard body... another shudder runs through me and I force myself to think of military routines.

After fifteen minutes or so I regain control and shift to my office. Lilith is sitting on one of the chairs in my office sipping tea. Sighing I ask "Why the hell would you wait for me in my room?" She grins and I see her golden green eyes dancing with humor. "Oh come on, it's not that bad. You'll have plenty of time to have her all you want but it's too soon right now. You'll thank me later." Her grin turns into a smile and she continues to drink her tea.

I squint my eyes in annoyance and ask "Did you see something?" While walking to my desk. She looks back at me and the smile is quickly replaced by worry making me uneasy. "I can see some things Rune but things that come to her I can't see anything. Anytime I try to see something I'm blocked and now that you are involved with her I'm seeing less and less of you." Her dark eyebrows come together as she stares off at the wall.

Sighing I try to wait her out. She does this whenever she's looking into someone's future but even the things she sees can change depending on someone's decisions or other factors. "So why did you wait in my room?" I ask again annoyed. She snaps back and gives me a knowing smile saying "Call it a woman's intuition. Doing something like that so soon would spell disaster. Give her some time Rune, she was human not too long ago." I stare at her then sigh knowing she's right.

I lean back closing my eyes and ask "What can you tell me about the "live" water I told you about?" She sets her tea down and says "From what you've told me I've done some searching and found that it's actually called spirit water and it sounds that she came across a spirit pool. I've heard that any fae that drinks the spirit water becomes extremely powerful but a human? I can't find anything on that."
