But speaking of Portal 6, the Trainees were having a hell of a time and that was in a literal sense compared to it being something that was to be joyful about. They realised it was not so easy to reach the bottom of the ocean bed to mine the items. They did not have the magic to sustain a deep dive and even if they did, there were monster encounters that they needed to contend with as well.

From Half Mutated Sharks with hardened skins to a school of fishes that were willing to lessen the trainees into mere bones. Maybe that was just the best case scenario, the worst case was where a single speck of bone dust was not even available. 

And to make things worse, the pressure they were under from the deep dive to the ocean bed was causing some of them to nearly lose their consciousness if not for Number 8's experience with the sea.
