William woke up with a splitting headache from a hangover.
He massaged his aching head with his two hands. The pain did not subside no matter how much pressure he put so he decided to stand up and take a cold shower.
When he was removing the blanket from his body, he found that he was not at his own bed. Orienting himself, he tried to remember the things that happened last night and realized that he had spent the night at Mia's place. And he was surprised that he woke up sleeping at Mia's bed.
He looked around the room and found the two bunnies sitting together on her study table this prompted a smile on William's face.
Not much has changed in Mia's room, he thought to himself. As he was looking around he saw the sleeping face of Mia on the floor.
Mia was sleeping on her stomach, head to one side with her arms wrapped around behind a pillow.
William who saw this decided to stay in bed. He lay on one side, supported his head with his arm and watched Mia sleep. And just like that, he did not move till Mia's mother called them to have breakfast.
"Mia, William! Go wash up and prepare for breakfast. I got some of your father's clothes for William to wear." Mrs. Hill continued to knock on the door until she heard the people make some movements from the other side.
Mia who just woke up with bed hair, and still not properly awake stood up and went straight to the bathroom.
While William sat on the bed while waiting for the clothes that he could borrow to wear.
Mia who was still half asleep and removed her pajamas had forgotten to get her bathrobe, went out of the room with just her underwear.
She opened the door, walked a couple of steps when she saw a man staring wide-eyed towards her. She blinked a couple of times before realizing that she was not wearing much on her body and shouted in surprise with a "kyaaaaaa!!", getting back inside the bathroom like a cat whose tail was stepped on.
On the other hand, William was grinning like an idiot on the bed.
A couple of minutes later, he was able to get out of his daze and said, "I'm going out of the room now Mia," He said and with some slight hesitation he decided to add, "I didn't see anything so don't worry about it."
William went out of the room and went straight to the kitchen to ask Mia's mother for some clothes.
"What happened to Mia?" Mrs. Hill inquired.
"She must have been surprised that I slept in her room because she looked half awake," William said with some twitches on his face.
He did not know if he sounded believable but Mrs. Hill didn't inquire much about it. She just told William that the clothes are in the bathroom and he should get changed.
"I also made some hangover soup so eat here before you go back home." Said Mrs. Hill.
William was, of course, delighted to spend more time with Mia and her family so he answered with cheery yes without delay.
On the other hand, Mia who was stuck in her bathroom and did not know what to do, keep repeating the words William said in her head.
'What does he mean he didn't see much?'
'Is he saying there's not much to see with my body?'
She looked at herself in the mirror, turned around a couple of times and said, 'They might not be big but they're there.'
She said to herself, unknown to others if she was protesting or making herself feel better.
Mia took a while before she was able to get out of her room. Her wardrobe was something else, people might even mistake her for a nun if she would wear the headpiece.
William could not help but laugh when he saw Mia's outfit. Mia, on the other hand, felt more conscious towards William's laughter.
Everyone was sitting at the dinner table but there was an awkward atmosphere between Mia and William. Mia's parents thought that it was due to a hangover as his father was also suffering from one.
One could see him touching and massaging his head from time to time.
Mia kept eating, trying to avoid William's gaze. She would look the other side if there was a hint that William was going to look her way.
They finished the breakfast in a relaxed manner as it was a Sunday.
William thanked the family wholeheartedly as he said his goodbye.
Mia's parents told William that he should visit more often if he has time and that he is always welcome. The two parents gave a small wave and happy smiles as he was leaving while Mia was too embarrassed to look at William in the eye, so she gave him a small wave without looking and without saying anything.
Looking at his rear-view mirror, he could not help but laugh out loud at Mia who was waving while looking downwards all embarrassed.
He was happy that his endeavor was fruitful, to say the least. He was still far away from his true goal but he was taking steps to move forward towards his goal.
While he was listening to music and humming with the tune, he passed by the usual route. It seems the day was going to be a good one.
The sun was shining bright and the streets were filled with life.
A little while later he received a text.
Mia: be careful on your way home. Come again when you're not busy.
