(MHA Fantasy AU) Tales of the Legendary Knights, Witches, and Dragons

Location: Izuku's house

Izuku Midoriya, a child born in the family of a farmer who dreams of becoming a knight in the royal palace. He lives with his mother, a farmer, Inko Midoriya. They live very modestly because of pressure from the kingdom which gives small wages to farmers and several other classes of workers while the taxes imposed on them are quite high. Izuku hopes that one day he has the chance to become a royal knight to help his mother because the royal knight's wages are very high despite being a beginner. Sometimes her mother always assumed that her son Izuku was just daydreaming until one day there was an announcement from the kingdom to hold a contest.

"Announcement! Announcement! Announcement for all people in the Northern Kingdom! In a month from now, King Endeavor will hold a contest for young people aged 15 to 20 with the prize of being a royal knight! For young people who are strong and brave, it is very welcome to take part in this contest!" Excited Present Mic, one of the leaders of the Northern Kingdom.

Hearing the announcement, Izuku intended to take part in the contest even though he knew that he was not very strong and his mother would never allow him to participate in the contest. Finally, Izuku intends to participate in the contest secretly. Izuku is very excited to take part in the contest which will take place a month from now. He practiced hard to try to win the contest and become one of the royal knights like his dreams.

"I have to work hard so I can follow the contest and become a royal knight. Mother would never allow me to take part in this contest so I decided to take part in this contest quietly. Alright...I will start training these small muscles to be able to compete with other youths in the contest." Izuku murmured.

Location: North Royal Palace

In the Royal Palace, the royal officials exchanged mutual knowledge about the competition announced by the king without the knowledge of the royal officials. One of the officials of the kingdom, Shota Aizawa, or often known by the nickname "Eraser Head" was against the competition that the king wanted to carry out.

"Why do we have to hold stupid contests like this, Your Majesty?" Asked Eraser Head who snapped a little at the king.

"I just want to see some competing runny-nosed kids...besides that, we need additional workers as royal knights to expand the territory." Answered the king of Endeavor

"Do you think this is a trivial matter? Increasing the number of royal financial knights can be chaotic and this will have an impact on the path of accepting knights who were previously only chosen by royal officials! " Exclaims Midnight the Royal Magician.

Previously the status of the royal knight was only given to the chosen youths who were chosen by the higher-ups of the kingdom. This was done as a sign that the Northern Kingdom was not arbitrary in determining its knights.

"Don't worry about financial problems, I plan to reduce the wages of novice knights and increase the taxes of farmers, blacksmiths, and some other lower-class workers." Said King Endeavor.

"Are you crazy? That will reduce the trust of the citizens and will damage the name of the kingdom! " Cried Eraser Head angry at the king.

"I will also establish rules regarding rebellion or rejection of proposals from the king and will be given a heavy sentence for that. Besides, I only care about power, wealth, and territory. I don't care what the residents say. The land they live in is my territory which means that they must obey all my wishes if they want to stay in this Kingdom." Said the king by giving a cynical smile to the royal officials.

The higher-ups of the kingdom could not do much because the Northern Kingdom was entirely dependent on the king. This has been established since the kingdom was first established. The higher-ups of the kingdom can only give suggestions and direction while the decision depends entirely on the king. But since King Endeavor came to power, sometimes he always decides on his own thing without first discussing it with the royal officials.

Location: Izuku's house

After finishing his job as a farmer's son, Izuku asked permission to go looking for herbs in the forest.

"Mother, my work is finished. Now I want to look for herbs in the forest and...May I go?" said Izuku who was confused to give an excuse to her mother.

"Yes, son. You may go and go home before sunset." Answered his mother.

"Can I go home before dinner?" Izuku asked.

"It's rare for you to bid like this...that's fine but don't go home too late." The mother's answer was confused because this was the first time Izuku offered her mother's will.

"Hooray...Thank you, mom...I will not go home too late. Then I'll leave right away...I'll go now!" said Izuku who was very happy.

Location: Herbal Forest

Izuku ran into the herbal forest to find a place so she could practice being able to compete with other youths in the contest. He ran to find a place large enough and comfortable to practice.

"Huh...it took a lot of courage for me to be able to lie to mother for reasons to go to the forest. Luckily I often go to the forest to look for herbs and I seem to know some suitable places to practice." Izuku murmured while running in the forest.

After 15 minutes of running from his house, Izuku finally found a suitable place to start practicing. The place is quite large, close to water sources, cool, and far from the nests of some wild animals.

"Finally...I think this place is suitable to be my training place for a month. The place is quite cool and comfortable, close to water sources, quite wide, and only 15 minutes running from home. I have decided to keep running home and leave this place as part of my training. I hope the training plan I put together will pay off." Izuku murmured while taking out some tools for training.

"Because I don't know what the competition will be like in the future...then I will decide to train every part of my body. I will train my legs by running to increase speed, I will train my hands in using swords and several other weapons, all my senses will also be trained to sharpen my vision and hearing, besides that I will also meditate to increase the capacity of magical energy in my body even though I don't know how to do it...but I'll still do it." Izuku murmured while looking for wood to make a mock sword.

Location: Izuku's house

Inko began to worry about Izuku who had not returned since going to the forest. After a few moments, the door knocked. Inko ran to open the door.

"Izuku...where have you been? I'm afraid something happened to you!" Angered by the mother.

"Sorry...I was asleep." Izuku answered.

The mother was confused and paid attention to Izuku.

"I didn't see herbs...did you forget to bring them?" Asked the confused mother.

Izuku was shocked because her busy schedule in training made her forget to look for thick plants to take home.

"Ah...I seemed to have forgotten to bring it when I woke up earlier...maybe because I was surprised when I woke up last night." Izuku said nervously.

"Geez, you...quickly change your clothes, I made dinner." Said the mother who felt there was something strange with her child.

Izuku went to her room and prepared for dinner. In his room, he took out some simple homemade weapons and thought about the mother.

"Sorry ma'am, but...I want to be a knight to make our lives better. I also want to keep this kingdom peaceful and peaceful. So I beg you to understand and forgive me for lying. I came home late at night because I had just finished the weapon I made...fortunately I was taught how to make weapons from wood since I was young. Sword, bow, and arrow, I made this weapon to practice. This wooden sword might not be as heavy as a real sword but I will adjust the movement and how to use it while the bow and arrow I only use to train my sense of sight. I don't intend to use weapons like a bow when I become a knight because there are more knights using swords." Izuku murmured while hiding his homemade weapon so the mother would not see it.

"Izuku! Have you finished there? The food is getting cold!" The mother shouted from outside.

"This is bad! I...Yes, ma'am, I'm coming!" Izuku exclaimed answering her mother's scream.

"Good...Now come down here!" His mother shouted again.

"Alright...With this, my training for a month begins!" Izuku murmured in a low voice.
