KC, an intersex immigrant with big dreams for a better life, moves to Novara, a city known for its tales of the underworld. KC gives no thought to this as her only focus is leaving her past behind and starting a new life free of judgment and discrimination, but her life takes a turn when she becomes involved with the Hargreaves.
After Nicholas Hargreaves helped Officer Anthony Wright track down traffickers who abducted his sister, Wright's help the clan settled in Novara blending in with people. The existence of their kind remained a secret that only a select few knew of, now Thirty years later, Wright is the sheriff and Hargreaves, the undersheriff a series of murders now threaten this secret and the peace of Novara.
