Two and two equals four seems obvious, doesn't it? Then tell me, a demon summoned as a Hero, isn’t that just as believable? Darius, son of the demon Lord Bael, is summoned in a room full of his natural enemies on his 18th birthday. Torn between his "hero's soul" which inflicts horrible pains as soon as he strays from the right path and his "demonic instinct" inciting him to bring misery, enter the tortuous and unusual daily life of our young pragmatic protagonist.
16 year old Keiji Rentarou plans to live the rest of his life completely anonymous as a light novelist without letting anyone interfere with him. Hardly anyone at his school can remember his name and he doesn't ever take the opportunity to try and know others. All seems fine to him until one day he gets cornered in an alleyway by a gang of thugs. Before the thugs could even lay a finger on Keiji, time completely stops and his surrounding turn completely into a black space with neon blue codes surrounding him. In front of him are two choices: Live or Die.
Once upon a time, in a far, far, far away land, a powerful king fell in love with an innocent princess. The King had travel for a long distance, day and night, sunny and rainy, whatever obstacles came his way, or whoever enemy, he encountered along the way, all of which, he overcame. For a woman he desires, all of his enemies, and those hindrances, he had conquered all, however, when he had arrived in the Diamond Kingdom, the innocent princess' kingdom, he found out that she is dead. He was too late. All of those sufferings he had endure are wasted, and his plans have vanished, like the massive power, he once had. He infuriated as he saw her spirit form, a white caterpillar, lying on a leaves of an enchanted tree. A sight of his lost property had formed a rage within him that had change him in to his real form, a heartless, cold, and dominating monster, the king of the Ruby kingdom. His vengeance created a great catastrophe, and ruined the bright, harmonious, and peaceful life in the Diamond kingdom. The darkness, along with a noisy lightning, and heavy rain have filled around the kingdom, experiencing his ferocity. A loud, helpless cry can be heard from poor souls, a pool of tears, and blood are scattered, his wrath have wrapped them in anguish. The angry king look at the poor souls bowing before him, his eyes are red-colored as fire, his glare could burn someone to death as he wished to, a smile of devilish smirk, his skin is porcelain, and black flames of dark aura are wrapping him. "Please, King R, have mercy!" The queen, holding the dead body of her son, pleaded. "I have once bow down to request for a peace, for her...yet, you refused, and replied me to begin a war, by killing my precious one, and now, you are asking for a mercy?" He replied, laughing of a sarcasm that could sent a shivering feeling, once heard, and a smirk of devilish who was displease. "You know that darkness, and lightness could---" The queen's second hand argued. "SILENCE!!!" The king roared, and throw a ball of fire at their direction, and another one with his left hand that covered them in a ring of flames. "You all chose to messed with me, killed the one I missed, and so this kingdom, and its people deserve the most luminous gift." He announced, smirking. "NO, PLEASE!" "I said... SILENCE!" He commanded, and aim a ball of fire at those poor souls, "I, King of Ruby Kingdom, King R, is setting a curse to the whole Diamond kingdom, and it's people, except to the one I dear the most, that only I, and her, Snow, could break. In all of my power, curse all these unforgivable people in a dungeon under the flame sea, guarded by sea monsters that obeys me, darkness, and blaze light, sealed the curse I behest!" The king chanted. A big, and round blinding light have covered around, and in a snap, all have vanished, the place have become empty, but the enchanted tree and the King remained. "Through heaven, hell, and earth, I'll find you, my dearest Snow."
Both were from prominent families except that they represented two completely different ends of the spectrum. She was rebellious, adamant, and a daredevil for a daughter. He was a paragon, an ideal leader, a picture-perfect son. She fooled others into thinking they had her under ropes but in reality, she defied every decision made that wasn’t hers. He followed the golden path paved for him and never questioned what more he could possibly need or want, unaware that what he lacked was the ability to choose for himself. Similar predicaments yet different lives. She thrived in danger and spontaneity. Order, predictability, and control kept him grounded. Both were fairly satisfied with their lives — that is until their fates intertwined and knotted itself together. Confronted and frustrated by a way of life they found repulsive, they challenged each other about the truth of personal freedom and choice. Will they learn to reveal their true selves to each other? Or is it all a mistake never meant to be made? After all, nothing could be exhilarating than having everything yet being ready to lose everything. This is my first novel I'm publishing online! Any feedback is welcomed because I seek to grow as a writer! Let me know what you think and thank you for reading! Note: I'll try to update when I can. I'm currently still in school so things are often hectic and I'm fairly picky with my own creative flow! I appreciate the patience though!
