Claire decides to attend the nation's number one magic school, Frozen Hearth. Along the way she gathers a surprising variety of friends and frienemies and enemies. ____ An unlikely group of students end up at Arydryen's top-ranked magic school, Frozen Hearth. One of said students, Claire, just wants to learn magic to defeat a dangerous enemy. But the others' goals aren't as noble. Two students are part of one of many secret organizations. One "student" is actually the leader of a secret organization. Another is trying to escape a dark, secret past. One girl is unaware of her cursed heritage. The prince of a neighboring empire and his bodyguard are there as well. And yet another, well, what the heck is he doing at a school in the first place? However, in a twist of fate, they end up together somehow. Claire somehow manages to convince them to help her with her noble aspirations, something the others should definitely consider doing. (Meanwhile, more evil secret organizations plot and scheme from the shadows.)
