Is the Disney Hercules story based on the real Hercules myth? The Disney story of Hercules has some basis in the real myth. The core idea of Hercules being a heroic figure with extraordinary strength is there. But Disney simplified and modified a great deal. In the real myth, Hercules had to complete the Twelve Labors which were often quite dark and difficult. Disney took that concept and made it into a more upbeat and less gory adventure for kids. Also, the way Hercules' character is developed in Disney is different from the more complex and often flawed character in the original myth.
How does the real story of Hercules compare to the Disney's Hercules? The real Hercules story is deeply rooted in Greek mythology with complex themes of sin, redemption, and the struggle between mortals and gods. The Disney version, on the other hand, takes the basic elements like his strength and some of his labors and creates a more light - hearted, coming - of - age story. It adds elements like the Muses as narrators and a more romanticized view of his journey, while the real story is full of pain, struggle, and the ultimate transformation of Hercules into a true hero through his arduous labors.

Nice story....but slow development....loved the character of this show. I hope it gets better as i read. But overall I'm satisfied with it The old man of the sea opened his eyes. He was surprised. He changed himself into a stag. He tried to free himself from the grip of Hercules. But Hercules held him tight. Then the old man changed himself into a sea-bird and then to other animal forms. But he could not free himself from the clutches of Hercules, because Hercules was making his clutches tighter and tighter. Finally the old man said to Hercules, “Who are you? What do you want from me?"
