Leon saved her from the many police officers by himself. He let Matilda and his potted plant escape through the ventilation duct and told her to withdraw the money. Leon disguised himself as an injured police officer and tried to escape but was seen through by the black police. In the end, Leon detonated a grenade and died with the black police.
