Changle Plum Blossom Town Plum BlossomChangle Meihua Town was a town under the jurisdiction of Changle District in Fuzhou City. It was located in the northeast corner of Changle, on the south bank of the Min River Eatery, and on the east side of the Taiwan Strait.
Plum Blossom Town had a long history. It was a famous port and military fortress in history. In ancient times, it got its name because of the plum blossoms on the mountain. In the Tang, Song, and Yuan Dynasties, it was renamed "Fanggui Township, Xinkai Li", and in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was renamed "24 Capital Plum Blossom City".
It was a pure fishing town and one of the top ten fishing towns in Fujian Province. It was rich in high-quality aquatic products such as hairtail, cucumber fish, eel, clam, and sea clam. The natural landscape of Meihua Town was beautiful. There were many migrating birds in the Eel Beach, as well as the Patriotic Monument and the Clean Official Monument from the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. In 2001, the General Mountain Park and the Meihu Friendship Building were newly opened.

In terms of sports, Meihua Town participated in the 12th National Fitness Games Village Basketball Tournament in Changle District, but was defeated by Eda Town 66:59 in the final.

The planned area extended to Haibin North Road in the north, Haibin Road (west section) in the west, Meihua Middle School in the south, and Meibin Road in the east. The total land area was 52.38 hectares. The goal was to build an ancient town comprehensive service group that integrated eco-tourism, cultural experience, leisure vacation, and ecological livability.
As an important port town on the Silk Road on the sea, Meihua City had been guarding the gateway to Fujian Province since the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was also known as the "southern throat of the Min River."
