I read up to Chapter 15, and honestly, Spiritus: Awakening feels very different from the usual fantasy stories I see on WebNovel. The biggest strength is the atmosphere. The story has this dark, strange, almost dreamlike feeling, with spirits, forbidden knowledge, religious symbolism, old military houses, and characters who never feel completely safe. It is not just “main character gets stronger.” There is a real mystery behind what is happening, especially around Hermann, Wolff, Oulanem, the Heavenly Lord, and the repeated images of blood, doors, sigils, and dreams. What kept me reading was the identity conflict. The protagonist is not only fighting enemies outside him; he is also fighting confusion, guilt, memory, and the fear that his own actions may not fully belong to him. By the time the story reaches the later chapters of Part One, the plot starts to open up more, with betrayals, hidden factions, and a bigger spiritual/political conflict behind everything. The prose can be dense sometimes, so this is probably not a story for readers who only want something fast and simple. But for readers who like dark fantasy, occult mystery, symbolism, and a protagonist trapped inside a much bigger game, this has a lot of potential. Overall, Spiritus: Awakening feels ambitious, atmospheric, and genuinely unique. It has rough edges, but it also has a strong identity, and that matters a lot. I’m curious to see where the story goes after Part One.
