They get powerful only because of character development so expect some emotional scenes for breakthroughs. See if you could spot the progression of emotions in the crew, and how it affects their powers. The mc may seem annoying/stupid at first but please try to read more. I truly hope that in this novel all the members of the crew will learn haki and not just fighters. That was one of the underwhelming part of straw hat pirates. As an emperor crew they are not not up to par. Especially since they have only very few members, everyone needs to fight properly regardless of their designation. Basically in straw hat pirates apart from Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Jinbe the others are underwhelming in their fights. I hope that will be rectified in this novel making the overall strength of group stronger and worthy of a future emperor crew.
