This have a childish tone in the writing so reading it makes is cringy and boring. In the first chapters, interaction between Night's Watch and jack is weird, then Benjen and Mormont's dialogue is also felt wrong. The characters are not themselves.

It was alright for the first 10ish chapters. But then got ruined by kicking off the Long Night 2.0 three centuries too early and in the wrong place. Ya know how in the shows and books it's the night king and his generals, the white walkers, who raise the dead creating wights? How they were pushed back by into the lands of always winter after the Long Night? So they're stuck in the Lands of Always Winter far to the North for thousands of years separated from humanity by a huge wall made of ice manned by the Night's Watch? How when they return they just steadily move south threatening the Wildlings first? How all the Wildlings banded together under King-Beyond-The-Wall Mance Rayder to try and get behind the Wall for safety by any means necessary? How Jon Snow and the Night's Watch were the only people trying to stop that from happening but at the weakest they'd ever been? Well forget all that. Wights just rise up from the dead now for no reason far south and behind the Wall and start sieging castles. Looks like Bran the Builder built the Wall for no reason and the Night's Watch is just a club for people who can't get laid. Wtf?
